We have ordered takeout chicken, biscuits and fries via GrubHub a few times now and the chicken is AMAZING! Crispy, well-seasoned chicken that has been juicy and tender every time. Fries are flavorful and the biscuits are delicious. Can’t recommend this place enough as it’s truly some of the best fried chicken to be found in GR!
I have always had a great experience with this place! The owner (or I assume he is) is always friendly, will have a good conversation if wanted. Fried corn on the cob is amazing 🤩 always great prices! (I already ate most of my food - then decided to take a photo).
For the reviews of the side dishes: side dishes always seem to be the same everywhere you go... With maybe a few that are notable the rest can be bland or just the same from place to place. My focus is always the main meal - chicken. If you're SUPER picky on chicken, politely ask for fresh chicken (or fish) and he will oblige. I have been here multiple times at various times of the day (sometimes lunch, sometimes dinner) and when the chicken is at the end of it's shelf life he will be honest, although I usually still take what he as "on deck" and still am not disappointed.
Super tasty and crispy with just the right amount of spice. The fried chicken was egg and dairy free. The guy who owns the place was really friendly and upbeat. We had the red beans n rice ,coleslaw and mashed potatoes with beef gravy as our sides. The only thing that could have been better was the instant mashed potatoes. I'll be going back for sure !
Went here last night for the 1st time. Never going anywhere else. This place is amazing and the owner is so sweet! It's 830 in the morning and I got the left over chicken in my air fryer cuz I couldn't wait to eat more! It's crispy and so flavorful! The inside of the restaurant was super clean and everything was nice and tidy back in the kitchen.
This man was very down to earth, I have been looking for a place like this in the city for a while food really hit home And he makes everyone feel home
Owner was extremely friendly, offered to cook up fresh everything when we went in (we came in close to close) but we declined and said what he had was fine. I don't think it was sitting that long because it was still extremely crispy even after sitting in the car for 30 mins on the way home. New chicken go-to for me and my lady.
Owner is a great guy, glad I had the chance to talk with him. That being said there's nothing cajun or anything else really flavorful about the food. It's basic fried chicken. It is really juicy and tender (not the strips though, they're tough) fish is great too. Long story short, great basic fried chicken, skip the strips.
First time eating here and they didn’t disappoint! The owner was amazing and gave us a deal of a life time. Such an amazing way to start a holiday weekend. Food tastes great, customer service was great prices couldn’t be beat!
Just ordered the 4 pc dark mix, coleslaw, red beans and rice, fried corn, and biscuit.
The chicken in REALLY GOOD! Super crunchy and delicious. And the coleslaw was great, too - good crunch, nice and fresh, and not too sweet like some places make it.
The other items were alright... not bad, just kind of take it or leave it.
But I’ll be back for the chicken and slaw for sure.
Wonderful gem in the rough. It's a small shop shop typically run by the owner. Chicken and fish and sides all offered at ridiculously low prices. All cooked fresh. Be sure to grab a side of beans & rice or the jambalaya! Come to think of it, the deep fried corn is tasty too...
