Better than your average chicken chain. Popeye's has much better food than other chains - higher quality and more flavorful. I don't have experience with other Popeye's locations (they're a rarity around GR), but I've been mostly pleased with this one. The food is excellent.
I have to admit that I've only experienced this restaurant through the drive-thru window (my wife and I have picked up a habit of getting take-out after kids are in bed). The service is decent, though often fairly slow. The new building looks fantastic - well-lit, up-to-date, while fitting in with the streetscape. At some point, perhaps I'll actually get to eat in the restaurant (when the kids are staying up past 7pm).
SO excited there's a Popeye's in GR, even if I have to travel from Holland to get there! Moved here from southern CA, where there's only one Popeye's there (in Anaheim) & I had to travel to get to that one too... :-) ...so worth it, I swear! I grew up in Louisiana & the main food I miss from there is red beans & rice. It's such a staple of life there--traditionally eaten every Monday, without fail--and it seems it doesn't exist outside of Louisiana (unless you make Zataran's). After a while w/out it, you get a craving for it that needs to be fulfilled! Popeye's does it!!! :-D The biscuits, chicken & the mashed potatoes w/ cajan gravy are highlights as well!! (dip the biscuits in the cajan gravy...mmm) Just found the Popeye's a few mins ago (new to UrbanSpoon) & we're gonna road trip tonight to eat there! Good eats...
Is it wrong to love a chain? I mean really love a chain. Not a, yeah, that’s pretty good, but I mean crave food from a chain restaurant. Does that make me a horrible “foodie”?

The wait for the food was my favorite!! They had a massive selection of carbonated drinks to pick from, i got 5 mild chicken pieces in my spicy box, my cajun fries were so northern i almost bought more. The green beans came with extra pieces of meat in it and the mac n cheese was super easy to drink!! The coleslaw made a wonderful lawn deck for my chicken pirate ship!! 5 star resturaunt for sure!!
Obviously that is sarcasm and the only 5 star deserved is the one i wanna give the managers forehead. First and last time eating here
Pretty good. I went through the drive-thru, the chicken(breast and thigh) were piping hot, as was the mashed potatoes and gravy. I really enjoyed it. Also, I was served quickly.
Overall the food tastes good fresh out the grease. Clean place I enjoyed it.
Get there early before lunch, chicken is super tender. The biscuits are finally delicious
Chicken sandwiches are really good! Chicken is very tasty. Decent value and good service.
when you go to Popeye's....
you keep one eye because Brutus might be around. Seoul chicken was good service was quick and it's truly chicken from Popeye's a little bit too much spice . it was perfect in all.

I ordered a #5 Spicy ‼️ NOT even close to 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ spicy.... WTH...dang, and the dude who took my order was so freaking polite and nice....🤨
Great place. But busy. It's worth the wait. I used to work my Grandma's Restaurant when I was 12 years old. And I learned a long time ago not everything goes right in a kitchen. Be patient and the crew will work with you.
Drive thru is always great! Food is always hot and delicious!
