No lie this is the best place to eat lunch in GR and possibly in Michigan as a whole. I have tried almost the entire menu and everything I've tried makes me say "I need to get this again!" Ive been coming here for years for the amazing staff and out of this world food and will be a life long customer. Im only giving them 5 stars because 6 and 7 were not options.
This is the BEST deli sandwich shop in Grand Rapids.... Lots of meat and lots of selections.
Parking can be a challenge, but believe me... It's worth it.

Great Sandwiches at Schnitz Deli
Schnitz Deli in Grand Rapids is a popular spot, especially during lunch. It’s a place where you order and pick up your food at the counter. It’s always busy, but the staff is friendly and the line moves fast.
People love the sandwiches here. They pile the meat high and put it between really tasty bread. The sauces and extras they add are yummy too. It’s just a really good, big sandwich that makes for a great meal.
It’s easy to see why folks like to come here. The food is straightforward but really good. It's the kind of place you might find yourself going back to over and over because you know you're going to get something delicious. The sandwiches are made with care and you can taste it.
Classic deli serving up amazing sandwiches in unchanged 90's style digs. Everything is good but my personal fave is the Brooklyn Reuben. Ample, juicy pastrami, Swiss, Kraut, Thousand Island, on perfect pumpernickel bread fresh from the bakery. These guys have been around a long time and for good reason! They have 4-5 different takes on the Reuben as well as many other faves but you can also build your own sandwich or customize anything. Daily rotating soups are a perfect pairing or standalone meal.
I got a number 9. It was absolutely delicious. I also got a side of coleslaw( it’s not creamy it’s oil & vinegar) & chicken jalapeño soup which was also amazing. Very busy around 12 but had amazing service & very happy faces! Definitely will be back to try more of the menu!
How have I lived in GR my entire life and not had the pleasure of trying this amazing place. Best Ruben I’ve ever shoved into my face. Will absolutely be back for more. 🤤
The service and quality of food here is AMAZING. 100% best deli in GR. Even if there's a huge line you will get your order in under 15 min- it's insane. The lovely woman who always works the front is amazing and recognizes the regulars instantly. If I could give this place a 6/5 stars I would!! Even the desserts are yummy!
I absolutely love this deli. My go to is the Chicago Reuben. Their coleslaw is delicious and the potato salad and broccoli salad are wonderful.
I've never had a bad experience getting food here. I don't get the soup because I love the sandwich do much. But they always have a variety of soups on hand.
The thing that wraps it all up is how wonderful the staff is, super friendly, good at moving the line along and making recommendations.
The food was fantastic, especially the sandwich and soup. However, what truly compelled me to write this review was the exceptional staff at this establishment. We had the privilege of observing their remarkable response to a customer's medical emergency, and their actions spoke volumes about their competence and compassion. Outstanding job!
The sandwich I had was outstanding...I'd order that again without hesitation. My issue is that the place appeared to be not very well kept. Wasn't expecting a 4+ star environment but I'm certain some cleanup work would have made a difference.

Today was my first time eating here and I was definitely pleased. A very casual spot, great customer service and my sandwich (Schnitz Reuben) was fantastic, I could only eat half. Looks like I found my new favorite!
