Easily the best egg rolls...they appear to use the same packaged egg rolls as everyone else but theirs are crispy and flaky. The tempura chicken in their General Tso's is perfectly done...crunchy, delicious. Their General Tso's sauce could be hotter but still very well prepared. I'm trying the Hunan Beef today. The level of excellence of your food seems to rely on who's in the kitchen. Weekday lunch and afternoons yield good results.
This is the best chinese food in town. I use to swear by the Hong Kong until they moved out of downtown, now this is their replacement in my book.
Best in the West. I dont know about the other guy but I simply think its the best chinese food i can get in grand rapids. My favorites are for sure the Mongolian Beef, Crabcheese and Kung Bao Chicken.. sooooo good.
Lunch specials are some of the best deals out there and the quality is definitely worth visiting for instead of one of those generic chinese buffets out there. Make a visit there if you can.
Just stopped by for a late supper and had to try the Thai Veggie fried rice….never tried it before but glad I did! Hot and fresh and served with a smile:). I’ll be back again!
I freaking love the food here. I've been ordering from them atleast once a week over the last 3 years while I've lived in the standale area. Quality of food is really good. Portions are very generous for the price. Best of all, they are quick! Most orders are ready in 20min or less. Which after a long work day, you can't beat it.

Tasty spicy tofu that is perfectly seasoned to my taste buds! Not too sweet or salty, you can add soy sauce or hoisin to your taste. Delicious with just plain white rice
Love their sesame chicken and crab Rangoon!! Currently it is “to go” orders only. We used to live behind this restaurant and we have eaten here for years!!
My family and I love this place! We've ordered our fair share of takeout and oftentimes things get messed up (missing part of the order, wrong items, etc) and even though we've frequented China Chef for years, they've never messed up our order! The curries are SO delicious and my kids love the egg drop soup. The hot and sour soup is good but it's quite spicy.
Delicious food with a wide variety of choices on the menu. Good price for good portions.
I have been coming here for years and today was the BEST experience I have ever had there...new chef or supply chain maybe, not sure bit whatever it is it is workin'! Got general tso chicken and beef and broccoli combos like usual but got hand made egg rolls and everything super fresh.

The place looked clean. I did take out. Meal was done how I ordered and didn't take long. It did help that the place wasn't packed.
Very nice experience. We had a quiet table by the window. Not too crowded. Very very good atmosphere. China Chef is 5 star dining in a warm, casual atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, Everything is done top notch here, without that "stuffy" vibration. I felt comfortable and extremely well fed. The portions are very generous (huge). The food was honestly 5 star dining food...never had a meal like this before...my husband's crispy duck melted off the bone. We both were highly impressed. The restaurant is beautiful. Classy, elegant...this place has style and elegance with Amazing food and the service was PERFECT. We'll be back. Oh ..we parked across the street in the lot it was a weekday so things were slow. But parking is plentiful and we were very safe. Beautiful riverfront views.
