I'm so excited to visit this place. Nice Restaurant space with an open bar, very, very clean, friendly people, and awesome food 😀. If you like homemade European/Balkan food this place is a place to try. This is a place from now on for my family and me. The second part of this place is a smaller European/Balkan grocery store where you can buy homemade bread and rolls, sweets, baking stuff, seasonings, and smoked meat. I must mention if you like lamb meat they roast the best lamb ever.
Wonderful place if you are looking for a Central/Eastern European restaurant option in Grand Rapids. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and all of the workers were very friendly.
We arrived around 9:00AM on Saturday and originally were going to get one of the breakfast options. However, once we saw the full menu and learned we could order from that as well, we decided to do that. We had the Shopska Salad, Sarma, and Geschnitzel. All of these were excellent. Additionally, the provided us with some bread/butter which was so delicious that we went next door to the small grocery store/bakery to purchase some to take home.
I would highly recommend this hidden gem in the Grand Rapids area!
While this place is Bosnian, I think, it is very Balkan, I was so happy to find great schnitzel options. We had the jaeger and geschnitzel along with a burek and some Bosnian beer. The place was nice and it seemed a lot of familiar people were coming in which is a good thing. The food was very good, reminded me of my childhood a bit and the prices were not bad. Bathrooms were clean and the location, albeit slightly hidden is actually nice as its so close to the mall and other places.
I write to recommend this restaurant with all my life. The place is excellent, the foods and coffee is fantastic, and overall, the service is beyond wonderful. I won’t stop coming here as long I live in Grand Rapids.
Please try this restaurant and thank me later. The pictures attached is me and my beautiful wife on Halloween (enjoying a cappuccino better then anywhere else!).
One love!!
We happened upon Al-Bos today on our way home from a visit to our grandkids in GR. What a find. Friendly service, great food, and reasonable prices. I think we'll make this a regular stop when we go to GR.
A great spot for a Sunday brunch away from the crowds at skillet & pancake shops. We sat outside and ordered a feast — I especially relished the burek & smelt, which brought me back to some summer days in Bulgaria a decade ago.
This place has been around for a long time but we tried it for the first time today. If we had only known what we were missing! The food was out quickly and delicious. Their Facebook page has their daily specials. The grocery store has the sorts of specialty foods you would expect too.
Awesome place
If you are looking for traditional Eastern European cuisine this is the place
Grocery and bakery attached to the restaurant so you can buy fresh baked bread and all kind of desserts.
Like a music selection from 80is and 90is most popular songs from former Yugoslavia

The food here was absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was so flavorful, we couldn’t stop eating. And the staff is so nice and welcoming!
