WOW! First of all, the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. It is small and quaint with large windows that allow a beautiful natural light in. I went on a Wednesday at 5:30 and there was barely anyone there, which I enjoyed! I imagine it gets quite busy on the weekends and on nights when devos has a show!
It was a little strange that they wouldn’t seat me until my friend arrived (even though the place was empty) but I didn’t mind grabbing a water at the bar.
I ordered the Bibimbap with pork and it was delectable and I only ate half because it is quite filling. All the ingredients tasted extremely fresh and the sauce was light. I ordered some hot sauce on the side which I felt really brought the dish together. I also ordered the Herbal energizer tea. It was a little on the expensive side for a cup of tea, but it also didn’t disappoint. It was very light and smooth and lemon juice made it very refreshing.
I will definitely be back because there were at least 10 other dishes I’d love to try!
Great place! Coffee is great. Staff is friendly. Service is great. The food choices are amazing, and everything tastes wonderful. Such a cool place to go! Highly recommend!!
Very enjoyable dinner! A fabulous concept of world foods! I started with their Hummus, although not Lebanese, still very good! Very fresh with a nice assortment of fresh veggies! My dinner was the Malaysian inspired marinated chicken, charcoal roasted ... this was outstanding!
Russ provided outstanding service with a very clear knowledge of the menu! It is very enjoyable and very much worth a second visit!
The shrimp dish was buttery and delicious! Kimchi was great, grape leaves were the best I’ve ever had. Fun atmosphere, great service. Price was a little high for the amount of food that you got but very high quality food and ingredients so kind of understandable on some of the items.
Stopped in with a friend late afternoon for a belated birthday hang. Friendly service, bright interior, good drinks, food was a hit and a miss. Menu looked great and tacos were excellent (1 chicken, 1 tofu) but I had the handheld special which was described as “tofu gyros” - it came and was a pretty flavorless thick, wet slab of tofu on a bun (see pic). The server was courteous about asking how it was and we talked jovially (I wasn’t a jerk) but I sent half back at the end saying I didn’t care for it (the food itself or the inaccurate description). No harm done but I would’ve hoped to have it at least discounted a bit but I was charged full price. I’ll give them another shot, I love san chez but on this outing I was disappointed (server was very congenial though).
It is so good!! Great service. Intimate dining room. Colorful decor. But most importantly the food is the best!! So flavorful and the portions are a great size! Ashley was an amazing server and made me one of the best Paloma's I've ever had! I live close and will be definitely coming back!
Roam continues to be one of my very favorite places to enjoy a meal in downtown G.R.
The service on this visit was pleasant but very erratic, and could see it was the same for other tables, too. I went about two hours after the closing of the Comic-Con vendor hall, so I am sure they had a rush.
Will always be back, though!

The food was so awesome, I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
We had hummus, a great bottle of wine , chicken satay, and tacos.
Everything was perfection.
The ambiance was delightful
And our just over the top wonderful

Roam yourself on in if you’ve never been to this little gem of a restaurant. If you like unique, but hearty, comfort food and flavors, this is the place for you.
Alfi was our server and we took all his recommendations and he lead us to the flavor promise land!

First time in Grand Rapids, had s great experience at Roam. Russ and The rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful with picking Vegan/Vegetarians options. The good was amazing and the coffee was delicious. Definitely 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Everything about Roam is amazing! The food is SO good. Our server Russ was beyond helpful and knowledgeable. He is a huge asset to the restaurant! The atmosphere is great. Roam is definitely a family favorite now!
My friends and I came here last minute for brunch and we loved it so much. From the food to the excellent service, we were very much satisfied with our experience here at Roam by San Chez. Alfie, our server took very good care of us being very aware of allergy’s and other needs. He recommended excellent options and made sure to describe each detail of the dishes to make sure we were 100% sure of what we were getting. And let me tell you, we were. We will definitely be back.
