I am giving a 5 star because of two people overcoming the 1/2 star performance by our original server. Alistair (the manager on duty) and Grace (the cook/chef) were above and beyond in accommodating us and went out of their way to make up for the original server and to give us a great end to our 19th anniversary.
We arrived just after 10:30 tonight. We were sat, and I went to the restroom. I came back and my wife told me that the server had already come to get orders and when she said I was in the restroom the server proceeded to inform her that they close in 20 min. I checked my phone AFTER our conversation and it was 10:38. Immediately, the server walks out of the kitchen and asks if we are ready to order. I explained that I just sat down and haven't even read the menu. She proceeded to tell me that she already informed my wife that they were closing in 20 min. She came back no less than 2 min later. We ordered our appetizer and she asked what else we wanted (with a significant tone of "get out already"). I handed back the menu and said I didn't want dinner. She asked, seemingly irritated, about drinks which I also didn't care to get anymore since she obviously didn't want us there. We were astonished!!!
I went to talk to the manager, Alistair, who was phenomenal. He made eye contact, shook my hand and introduced himself. After apologizing about the rude server, he waited on us himself and was attentive and knowledgeable. He suggested items on the menu that he liked or are popukar as it was our first time there. Grace (the cook) even decorated a dessert plate for us where she wrote out Happy Anniversary under the desserts. And Alistair took pictures of the process and showed us. We ate, enjoyed good conversation with Alistair and Grace, who personally delivered our dessert. Since it was our 19th anniversary she even ask if we have any secrets and listened intently as my wife told her our secret, "the grace of God". The conversation was nice but not overbearing and paired nicely with our meal. That is how two key people turned our sub 1 star entrance into a well deserved 5 star review!

Today was our first time at Gravity and we will definitely be back. Service was excellent!! All servers and host staff were great/personable, but our server (John) was the best server we have had in a long time! It's nice to go out and have a server who seems like he likes his job and WANTS to be there!
I've been to Gravity a few times now, and I can say that the food is very hit and miss. I've tried some of the sandwiches and haven't been impressed by any of them. The most recent time I was there the brisket sandwich was ridiculously greasy with almost no other flavor to cut the grease. Other sandwiches I tried like the croque-monsieur where just one note, and left me wanting something else to go with it. That being said, the stuffed shrimp and tator tots were phenomenal.
Nice craft beer selection. The selection identified Michigan beers as well as assisting you with your selection with a brief description of each beer. Stopped in for lunch and was nicely surprised.
Another great, clean bar! Had fun with my brother and cousin after a movie. We tried it out of curiosity and it was a hit. We all got delicious food and drinks to boot. The waitresses were very kind and always around when you needed anything. Probably going again after movie this week!
A Dinner Night at Gravity Taphouse and Grille
Gravity Taphouse and Grille in Grand Rapids has a cool, dark look inside and a friendly bunch of people working there. The place feels kind of fancy but not too much, making it a nice spot for dinner.
The food had some ups and downs. The octopus got a bit too crispy in parts, and it wasn’t all cooked the same way. The burger was a bit on the small side and didn't stand out much. The onion fries came out not so hot, which was a bit of a letdown. But there was this feta spread with pistachio that was really tasty. It was the kind of dish you remember and tell people about.
Even with a few bumps in the meal, the prices weren’t too high and the place had a nice feel to it. So, Gravity makes for a good option if you’re in the area and looking for a spot to eat where they have some classy touches but won't break the bank
Best Food I have had in a while! The tater tots with white truffle sauce blew my mind! They're a must try and their Berry Ginger Cheesecake is a good way to end the dinner off. Very Good food, Great Atmosphere and Friendly Staff.
Goat cheese with roasted vegetables was... indescribably good. Perfect combination of sweet, savory and salty. Maple bacon Brussels sprouts were amazing when getting in all ingredients in one bite!
The food was actually way better than I thought it would be. The hot chicken sandwich isn’t hot but it did have a lot of great flavors. The Brussels were perfectly crispy and delicious. And the Tater tots?! Pleasantly surprised! The staff was very friendly and very attentive.
Gravity taphouse grille is an experience you don't wanna miss out on. The decor is beautiful I love all the lights. Real cool calm collective atmosphere. The drinks were great and strong.
I got the hot honey chicken sandwich. Omg it was the best chicken sandwich I ever had. It was so crunchy and juicy. The hot honey 🍯 sauce was so good had some heat but you got hit with the honey after. It had a apple slaw on it and I loved it. It gave the sandwich so much more textures and crunch I can't wait to get it again. And my man got the BLT sandwich and he was so impressed

We selected this restaurant based upon reviews and close proximity to the Cornerstone University.
It was not busy at the time we dropped in to eat. We were seated immediately by Maddie. It was a bit dark when we walked in, but maybe that was the mood for bar area.
The tater tots and the egg rolls appetizers were delicious.
The Pub Dip was decent, my only complaint is the Au jus was lukewarm. Everyone thought their food was good.
For our ticket of 3 people was pricey, but the cost of eating out has increased.
The food and service is excellent, Ruben sandwich is my fav ! Weekends are busy, so call ahead for any reservations.
Just off 96 so very close to downtown and all of the beltline area folks !
Good place for a drink and food.
Menu is very varied and a good selection for different tastes. Food was very well cooked and tasted great.
Our server was awesome and had a great attitude. He made some good recommendations.
There are plenty of different seating areas as well bar options if you just wanted drinks.
There are some deals on the menu as well as a rewards system if you are local to the area.
This restaurant was the best of we first trip to Grand Rapids and the food and service was out of this world. And it was my Birthday. Me and My Wife enjoyed the Patio Vibe and strangers making us feel at home. We Will Be Back
