Everything about this place is excellent! Excellent service, excellent atmosphere (especially the enclosed patio), and food are all wonderful!
We started with the pork belly, it was presented unlike any I’ve ever had and special! I’m southern and have had grits many different ways, but wow, these were excellent!!! I had the crab agnolotti and it was perfectly sweet, creamy, and bright all at the same time. My husband had soup and salad and even that was A+.
We will no doubt be back, this quickly rose to our top GR restaurants list!
Butcher's Union is on the list for top 100 restaurants in the USA. It was a great night full of fun lively atmosphere and great food. There was a long wait, about 1.5 to 2 hours at peak dinner times, but this was to be expected. It is not far from the Riverwalk, so after putting your name on the wait list you can find some nice places in the area. They do not accept reservations.
The patio is really lovely in nice weather, very colorful with beautiful flowers. The lighting is dimly lit inside and gives it a very cozy feel. The selection of drinks is extremely large, an option for every kind of person.
Our server Sarah was great, very friendly and spent time asking and genuinely caring about our day.
The food here is amazing. I was in town on business and decided to try one of the higher rated restaurants in town. I could not have been happier. My steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly! They have a seemingly endless collection of top shelf liquors to compliment the menu. The bartender was very knowledgeable and accommodating. I plan to stop back the next time I'm in town.

This would be a spot that I would turn into my local watering hole if I lived here. In addition to a well executed menu, they have a lovely happy hour for those days when you just need a snack.
We enjoyed sharing multiple small dishes to try as many things as possible, and were pleased by both their happy hour special cocktails and their main menu.
One of, if not, the best place in Grand Rapids…if you love meat and whiskey. Much prefer sitting at the bar to watch the bartenders whistle up proper cocktails. Had crab fritters to start, agnolotti crab pasta and gold American Wagyu NY strip for dinner, and apple crisp to finish it off. Our bartender, Connor, was great. Nothing short of an awesome evening. Been here several times and highly recommend!
Both of our salads seemed very fresh and were lovely except they were at room temperature which is a real turn off to us. Also, they had about 10 times more dressing on them than they needed! The meatball appetizer was phenomenal and had the highest garlic to meat ratio that I have ever experienced, but they were delicious and in a tomato sauce that has to be experienced as it was phenomenal! The whipped feta cheese dip was off the charts, we both loved it!
Came here with my girlfriends for the first time, and our server was very patient as we took our time looking at the menu. We all really enjoyed the food even though we all got something completely different. The drinks aren’t too bad either. It’s a great spot that has a little something for everybody.
Awesome service and food! We were celebrating a birthday and even though we didn’t order a dessert, our server still brought us a little something with a candle. We will be back!
Wonderful experience with the wait staff as they helped my Mom find a good option for her sandwich since she cannot eat dairy or gluten. Wonderful FRIES 🤩 Everything is found as locally sourced as possible and my dish was wonderrfffull. We left feeling full and absolutely satisfied with our meal! How delicious!
Best restaurant in GR! The food is always incredible and the service is too. Love that the menu items are locally sourced. Their house made cheesecake is to die for!
