One of the best restaurants in the entire Hampton Roads area. Starting with a fanastic menu created by one of the best head chefs in all of southern VA—Ryan. Every day is something new and creative—food you would expect in a five star restaurant. Then there is Mario the owner who is a gracious host and wine expert who is always changing his wine list. The servers are well trained and very professional and friendly. And finally there is the best bartender in VA—Mary Rose! If you want to sit at the bar—outside in summer or inside in winter you better get there before 5pm or there is no seat availability. All because of Mary Rose who has a huge following of regular customer. We all gather around Mary Rose to watch her as she makes every kind of drink for the entire restaurant. But it is her fantastic personality that light up the place. So spend an evening with Mary Rose and the entire gang at the York River Oyster Company and you won’t regret it! Simplify the best restaurant for creative menu, great chef, friendly servers and of course Mary Rose
Have gone here numerous times, all times of the year, by boat and car. Each time we are always impressed with not only the food but the awesome service. Taken our dogs with us and have sat outside on the patio, super dog friendly, they bring a bowl of water for the pups. The wait staff always have been spot on and Debbie, the manager, is FANDAMTASIC.
YROC did not disappoint. Lovely meal with great service. We ordered the calamaris, they came quick maybe a little to quick hence minus a star. They could have used a few seconds losing the greasy oil instead of placed on a plate sitting in oil. The shrimp was colossal and well done. Burger had a wonderful flavor. The tomatoes were cut too huge (see pic) so you couldn't quite bite the burger. An over all lovely experience.
Hands down one of my favorite restaurants. I've never had a bad meal here. Tonight I tried the cheese curds and Mac and cheese eggrolls appetizers and they were delish. For my entree I had the seafood trifecta. Atmosphere is great on water. It's always packed and hustling and bustling. They don't take reservations and is first come first serve and there is always a wait bc it is so popular. Tons of outdoor patio seating too to enjoy on a good weather day. Parking is difficult bc there aren't a lot of spaces and like I said, it's always packed.

Delicious food and beautiful views! How can you go wrong? You can even have your dog along to help with the fun (and the cleanup, because gravity is a dog’s best friend 🤣). The fish is very fresh. We enjoyed the oysters Rockefeller also. You can never go wrong with bacon and oysters right?
This was my first time visiting YROC and i was very impressed. The prices are very competitive and the food is amazing. We got the pickle fries and the amount we got blew me away. We also got wings, and the baseball center cut steak and everything was perfect. Not to mention the location is wonderful, it was a beautiful day and we sat outside.
Food was fantastic. I had the crab cake sandwich and it was mostly crab meat! The Tequila Lime Shrimp and Clams were delicious. Husband had the Ahi Tuna Tower. He said it was really good.
Positives: loved the Blackened Tuna ABLT sandwich. Tuna was perfectly cooked and moist (not easy with tuna), coconut shrimp was also perfectly cooked (again super easy to overcook shrimp), Hunter Paige was great, quick, just the right amount of attentive, Wet Woody was crazy delicious, trouble for sure. Improvements: fries were not crisp but sort of limp (it's a basic), coconut shrimp plate was beige shrimp, white rice and macaroni salad. Essentially 3 white items. Needed a Thai cabbage salad or something bright with vibrant taste. Obviously these are small area Improvements. Super popular, best early, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Great hidden surprise! Never knew this place existed till my sister treated us there for lunch. Definitely going to be coming back. Great open atmosphere. Next time we're sitting outside over looking the yachts.

Regular customer. Bar upstairs is our favorite spot. Loaded nachos are a favorite! Slushes were on special. Mixed Drinks were all great. Beautiful view. Service was excellent, it was busy with 2 bartenders holding down all of upstairs so service was not immediate but everyone was friendly and we had a great time! Looking forward to next time.
First time here. Was recommended to us by our neighbor. My wife and I spent our 23rd Anniversary here and it was amazing. Our waitress, Melanie, was very good at helping us with our order. The Oysters Rockefeller was a great starter. The Orange Crush(drink) was great as well (one of my southern favs). My wife had the Seafood Trifecta with mashed and asparagus. It was cooked to perfection and the asparagus was very tender. I had the Maine Lobstah (Monstah) Roll with fries. It's on a split top hogie roll and over flowing with lobstah meat. And we topped it off with cinnamon swirl cheese cake and key lime pie. We will be back to try some more great food.
Outstanding ambience, customer service, and food. Serving sizes were perfect, appetizers were amazing, cocktails and beer were a great selection. Prices were on par with quality of food and service. Definitely will be a repeat customer.
Just visited again, been a while, and yet, still satisfying customer service, food and staff! Thank you and keep up the great work!
