I must say, our 1st experience at 1st Watch was almost derailed by the manager, however, was saved by Emerald (the hostess) and our waitress. Let's get the pleasant aspects out of the way. The atmosphere with the wooden theme especially for a breakfast place is perfect. With how busy they are, truly could use some more room, however, the wait was only about 15mins (for how packed they were is impressive). Menu is loaded with options and food was well prepared. Parking can be quite a challenge depending on the day and time since there are other venues in this complex so plan accordingly.
Men's restroom door opens to view the standing stall from the ladies restroom 🚻 so not ideal. Outside of the negative experience with the manager, the restroom situation would be my only issue.
Now on to the concern:
Our party of 9 + our 3month old grand baby was met by Emerald ( if not for her and the lady who was our waitress we would have left) The manager had placed us in a cramped corner, were they had to obtain more tables and chairs to attempt to make us fit, while he was making significantly more room and accommodation for a smaller group on the main area with far more room. I even wondered why he placed a couple at a center table setup that could have also accommodated our group far better than where he had placed us. Seeing thus Emerald quickly started to correct this illogical move, however, right in front of us this manager attempted to belittle her and with an attitude to prevent her from correcting this situation. Emerald respectfully and professionally stood her ground, placing us at the more roomy accommodation. I am not sure why he behaved the way he did, I absolutely hate assuming so I will leave that alone. Once resolved, everything else was wonderful. If not for Emerald, this review would have been 2 stars and not close to the positive end result we did have.
My favorite breakfast restaurant by far. Consistent quality. The food, service and atmosphere is superb. My personal favorites are the farm house hash, Floridian French toast, morning meditation and honey caramel crunch iced coffee. Always recommend first watch, especially this location.
This was my second visit to this restaurant and it was worth coming back too. The food is fresh and hot; with great fresh juice choices as well.
Today I had the pleasure of Eli serving me and he did fantastic job. He was positive and friendly and made some suggestions based on what I told him I likely.
I ordered the chorizo, scrambled eggs, flour tortias and hashbrowns. I was prepared perfectly.
The restaurant had handicap parking; wide entry's, and plenty of room for a wheel chair. The patio was a popular place for many breakfast diners.
I would highly recommend First Watch if you want a pleasant breakfast experience in Phoenix.
This breakfast lunch restaurant is outstanding! Great service and great food. Everything I've ever ordered here has always been delicious, and healthy. Two big thumbs up for First Watch.
Comfortable dining environment and friendly service staff. The food is delicious, not too greasy or dry.
Great food and coffee! Breakfast sandwich was good. I like the option of greens instead of potatoes. Lemon ricotta Pancakes were a bit dry. Not enough sauce or something. Potato was slightly undercooked to my liking, but good flavor. I would definitely go again!
Always great menu items and good service even on a Sunday morning when extremely busy. Our party of 4 was offered an open seating table in the front of the restaurant at a table for eight. Another patron was seated at the end of the table alone. We decided to sit at the open seating rather than wait 45 minutes. The chairs were high stools at a high table, which for 3 of us was somewhat uncomfortable, however, better than waiting 45 minutes. Service and food was still excellent.
Barbie is very amazing! One of the main reasons I dine in at First watch is the amazing costumer service mainly due to Barbie as she was very attentive during my time there. I've had her multiple times and she never disappoints! Please keep up the quality service 🙏
I had a fantastic experience dining at this restaurant. The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. I was particularly pleased to find an ATM conveniently located next door at the local barbershop, which made paying with cash a breeze. I'm looking forward to returning here again in the future.
This visit proved to me that First Watch quality is consistent with all the First Watch restaurants in the Phoenix area. My wife and I and a couple of other family members traveled to First Watch at 3780 W. Happy Valley Rd. in Glendale and ate there on a Sunday morning. We knew the place would be busy. We wanted to see whether the staff could maintain the highest of quality. They did Not disappoint at all. Our wait was 45 minutes but the hostess asked whether we would like to be seated immediately at the “community table” and we said we’re good with the community table. The chairs were a bit uncomfortable but we did not really mind because I didn’t want to wait 45 minutes if we could secure a table in a matter of minutes. I always order blueberry pancakes but my wife did all she could to convince me to order the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and we’d share the double stack of pancakes and an order of eggs. I ordered blueberry pancakes instead. My sister ordered French Toast and the order looked excellent. Her boyfriend had a Bloody Mary and it came with a slab of First Watch million dollar bacon.
