Whataburger

Used to be an awesome place to go but service has trended downward over the years. Went in today after a absolute herd of teenagers too over the place. the cashiers we're obviously friends so instead of serving anybody else, one runs off to chat with them while the other argues plays with the whataburger app with another. I got passed by multiple times because I'm just some adult. I went across the street to McDonald's and had my food on my table quicker than the time it took to write this review. I didn't lower the score more only because kids will be kids.

Drive through lane at 10:30pm took 20 minutes to process the 5 cars infront of me and an additional 10 minutes for me to get from placing my order to leaving with food. I stopped here to get a quick bite and caffine pick up on the drive home, but I could have been home in the time I waited. I've been to whataburger late night, even on holidays, and never waited anywhere near this long. Sign out front says dining room closed for renovation so the only part of the business operating is the drive through and its this slow? 😞 No apologies from the staff either.

The store seems very under staffed as the drive-thru worker had to take my dine-in order. I felt very rushed as she was speaking quickly. I asked for a chocolate shake and got a vanilla one instead. They also sometimes forget the gravy I asked for in the chicken baskets so I have to check before I leave. Took about 25 minutes for one meal. However, it's much better than McDonald's if you're okay with all of this lol

Okay so I'm not sure if y'all know banking like before the 2000s Whataburger somehow always ended up burning their hamburgers in Texas I'm glad to say that these days it's not much of a problem but this Whataburger in gilmer I haven't been there for like technically four or five years maybe longer than that they have totally remodeled the place I was impressed and let alone they paid attention to my order and got it right I want to thank them for that when it comes to custom orders with certain you know people the craftsmanship of the order and overall oh getting it right is important I'm glad they got my order right and that one I was impressed they done it so fast I would give this place like a seven star review but I can only do five thank you Whataburger from gilmer Texas
