Bodacious Bar-b-q

We were on vacation visiting in TX from WI and I wanted us to have some good BBQ before we left the state. We drove 25 miles out of the way to get to Bodacious. We are so happy we did!!! Let's just say there was no time for photos before we ate, and there was nothing left when we were finished. The employees were very polite and kept up with all of our questions then brought our food out to us, it was fantastic! If your in the area I recommend stopping by and if you're not then you should still go! The sauce was so tasty that we bought a bottle.

Bodacious has always had good-to-very-good barbecue. I've never had a problem with it. The problem is it seems like every time we call them or go by in the evenings, they're either closing or closed. Tonight it wasn't even 8 yet, and they were closed already. Maybe that was a fluke. I have to wonder if they're closing early due to staffing shortages or lack of business...but there always seems to be people there. If I were the owner, I'd be stopping by or calling in occasionally about ten minutes before the official closing time just to check up on how the business was being run. If they need to close earlier, they need to change their hours of operation listed online.

Really bad food. The brisket was dry and both the turkey and brisket tasted like I stood in front of a fire pit and sucked in smoke, you couldn't even taste the actual meat. The potato salad tasted sour like it had gone over. I did not complain as there were only young people working, no owner/manager that I ever saw.

Best BBQ EVER 🤩😋 ! I got the Brown Bag Special for my Mom and me and their chopped beef BBQ sandwiches are the best EVER ! Sodas🥤were a little flat, but it was late in the afternoon when I got the food so it's understandable. I also love the fact that they're 1 of the few places that still serves RC COLA 🥤😋 and some of the biggest names in music 🎶 have eaten there when they went through Gilmer. LOVE ❤ THIS PLACE AND I WILL BE BACK AGAIN ! 😁👍🐾
