Cracker Barrel

Always wanted to check this place out and now that I moved to Milwaukee, I finally did! My salad was delicious and the bread rolls were too! I love the idea of a gift store inside as well. Bought a birthday gift while I was there. The only thing I would say went wrong was the bathrooms. There were 5 stalls of which 1 was missing toilet paper, and there was another one that the door didn't have a lock on it. Other than that, great experience!

Multiple issues and wow I am stunned: Took 5 minutes to even be acknowledged at host stand (we were the only people in line from entering to being sat) Host took us to a section full of dirty tables, turned around and took us to a dirty table that clearly needed to be wiped and sanitized, set menus down and walked away. We sat, server did not come over for about 10 minutes, said hello, then walked away. Manager eventually came over to take our order. Food took about 15-20 minutes, which was fine. However, our server set HALF our order down. And put down the check and left. I received my check before we even got silverware for our meal. Not only did we have to ask for silverware and the rest of our meal after sitting there for several minutes, she did the same thing to a four top next to us where a gentleman literally had to walk to the kitchen to get someone to give their table silverware. The restaurant had 8 of about 40 tables sat including us for the duration of our meal. At least 18 tables had to be cleared or wiped down when we sat. Astoundingly, I was still surrounded by tables that had yet to be cleared by the end of our meal. To add insult to injury, the last 15 minutes we listened to some sort of ringer/buzzer/phone ring non-stop. No one stopped the sound prior to our departure. My biggest gripe with all of this, is that i counted 6 front of house employees total in that restaurant. My entire stay at this restaurant had 7-8 tables sat. Youre telling me that nobody: could answer a phone? Bus tables? Sanitize tables? Greet people? Or even give people what they needed to eat the food they ordered? There are basic rules of running a restaurant, it takes multiple failures to get me to write a review. But this was shockingly bad.

We waited about 30-35 mins. To eat .....The macNcheese was good, the fish could've been cooked harder, the biscuits were good, the Cornbread was dry and cardboard like, the greens were not seasoned and also distasteful, the potatoes were dry.... the service "Bre" provided was excellent she made the dine in experience worth it....

Not the best this time. Waitress extremely slow to come back and tell me that my order was made fresh and therefore it took way longer. We sat for about 40min. Even customers at table next to us commented about how long it was taking. Asked for cornbread and did not get it, only brought out biscuits. Asked for to go boxes and waitress never brought them, had to ask hostess. Had to ask for the bill when she finally came around. There were other waitresses that were there and were busy serving their tables so it's not about a lack of staff. Food was good and hot when it came. Gift shop is always a plus with many adorable items to look at and purchase.

We know the pandemic caused a shortage of wait staff but this was ridiculous. Sat down and waited 10 minutes before someone acknowledged us. Brought us water 5 minutes later and took our order. We sat their about 35 minutes and the girl came back and asked how everything was and we said we haven't even eaten. She then said I'll check with your server and we said you took our order. She said she'd check and bring it out right away. It took another 10 minutes. The food itself was very tasty. We finally finished and needed take home boxes which we asked another server to bring. Trying to get our tab was crazy also. Our server left for the day. It was nuts. It was over an hour and a half if not more. We almost walked out without paying. We had a gift card and just wanted to use it up and never go back again. We did get free sodas. Whoopee.
