The newly opened Jimmy Vegas in Georgetown is around the corner from my house. We decided to walk on over and see if the food was as good as the smells wafting over into my yard. It did not disappoint. My friend ordered the "I don't know what I want" platter and I got the loaded baked potato. The brisket was tender and juicy as were the pork ribs. The potato was large and unique with slaw, some cream sauce, cheese and other savory toppings. The Mac and cheese and creamed street corn was full of flavor and really hit the spot. We also loved the atmosphere. Good job!
Excellent BBQ! Brisket was so tender! I loved the names of the menu. I had the “I don’t know what to get” that came with 2 sides, turkey, rib, sausage and brisket! My guest enjoyed a brisket sandwich. Our sides: jimmy beans (amazing) German potato salad (not my favorite but it was good! Served warm with vinegar) and the mac & cheese (fantastic) Historic home turned restaurant at a great location. Smokehouse was smoking, so good!
Best BBQ around. New location on university is very well done with lots of seating in and out. Parking lot behind the building, or north, across the street. All of the meats had a great smoke flavor from the pit. Had turkey, brisket, ribs, and sausage. The slaw is unique and tasty. Ample serving size, good value. He still plays vinyl on a turntable.
Has a "on the road" smoke house feeling. It's slightly hidden for how damn tasty the BBQ was!!
I had the loaded baker,(amazing) with chopped beef.
All sauces were on point. I suggest putting a different one on each bite.
Also another heads up, get there before the lunch rush!
Thanks again for a great lunch!
Amazing venue.
As someone who came from Texas Tech and grew up around the vintage style restaurant lifestyle I can say this place was easily my new favorite for whenever next I am up in Georgetown!
Customer service, including meeting the owner was above and beyond my expectations.
Clean, and the food was utterly amazing.
Had a Reuben brisket sandwich and as a born and raised Texan with Irish blood easily blew me away like family cooking. :)
Also they serve the hard to find Soda black cherry Tarragon soda! (My all time favorite that I would have to go to Aviator Pizza to find!)
This is a really nice place, I love the decor of this place. The food was good. 😁
The brisket was so juicy and tasty, and the cobbler was freaking awesome!!!! Service was fantastic, I will definitely be going back👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Amazingly good BBQ in a fascinating classic old Georgetown house converted into a great place to eat and chill out. I had the sampler plate so I could try everything and it was all great. I especially enjoyed the bbq'd bacon which I've never seen anywhere else. My wife loved the cracked corn and the rum-apples.
