Came to the Chicago area for a bachelor party and passed by this brewery so we stopped for a drink. Many drinks later, I was beyond impressed. Every beer was incredible, often with a large variety you will find some tasting the same or similar, but each was unique, full bodied and flavorful. The IPAs were pleasing and palatable with the perfect amount of bite. The stouts were sweet and bold, but not too heavy.
After sampling several beers the conversation turned to the liquor and here is where I must say I was impressed. The whiskey was good, the rum was great, and the gin was the most floral and unique I have ever had.
Kudos to Steve for being our guide and playing some awesome music and walking us through the taps.

Steve was an amazing bartender. Very knowledgeable, great conversation and great music. The beer was impressively good. Took 6 four packs to go. The gin was one of the best I've tasted. A must stop. Worth the drive from Chicago

18th Street Brewery in the Miller Beach neighborhood of Gary is a rare find for craft beer lovers. It also carries craft distilled spirits. The place offers some of the best beers in the Chicago area and the nation. IPAs, Double IPAs, stouts, Sours and more are available on tap. The place has a chef and the offerings are nothing short of amazing. Try the cheese curds. Try the brisket, which is smoked fresh daily. The ambiance is casual and the staff is friendly. It is just a block away from the South Shore station if you would like to take the train from Chicago to visit. It is also just up the street from the Indiana Dunes National Park. A must visit if you are traveling in northwest Indiana.

Stopped by with my wife and two pit bull mix dogs before we all headed out on a dune hike. The staff were very friendly, particularly with our doggies. The outdoor patio is spacious and the beer was great. We'll be going back.
