We always like to try different types of seafood while we're at the coast. We had the 'Seafood Bomb' which was fish and shrimp steamed with veggies in a foil pouch. It was 'ok' but really pretty tasteless. It really needed some seasoning. We had way more than we could eat so we took the left overs and I re-heated them the next day and added some butter and garlic salt....was MUCH BETTER.

We exclusively do take out here & the BBQ is excellent! The accuracy of the order is a 50/50 chance, thus the lower number of stars there. For example, getting a baked potato instead of potato salad, requesting fatty brisket & getting lean, etc. So not devastating, but disappointing. The employees are friendly, & the order is quickly completed. But there seems to be a lack of knowledge about the menu with a few of them. The brisket & chicken are particularly outstanding. They often run out of chicken, last time I ordered extra early for dinner, at 2pm & they were already out! However, we'll continue to patronize as the food is great & plentiful. We'll just hope there are no take-out surprizes!

Mouthwatering deliciousness! Great barbecue. We had the brisket, sausage and ribs. All were moist and flavorful. Brisket had very little fat and was our favorite. Big portions. Super friendly waitress. Great customer service. Will be sure to return again.

Had a cheeseburger and fries along with the jalapeño bombers... Burger was awesome, very juicy and spot on with seasoning... Bombers were great... Just enough heat. I've eaten the barbecue here before and no complaints as well. I'll definitely be back

In our continued quest for quality Saturday bbq, the boss and I stopped in at The Shack! We were not disappointed a bit!
I went with the two meat plate (brisket and sausage) along with sides of beans and potato salad. The boss got a small poboy sandwich (also brisket and sausage).
Each of these two were very generous in portions….we didn’t leave hungry at all.
The atmosphere and service were very good. Polite and friendly.
Definite must try place!!!

We loved this place!! It smells so good when you're walking through the parking lot. It's a small restaurant with home cooking, but big on flavor. They have generous portions and the prices are very inexpensive. My husband got the Barbecue Brisket Frito pie and I got the Loaded Baked Potato with brisket, cheese, bacon bits, sour cream, and butter. Both our selections were incredibly good!! And we got their Banana Pudding to go (we were both stuffed already but couldn't resist the pudding) We definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!! Hopefully we can come back to Rockport soon (we are on vacation and live in Austin). We might even stop by here again on our way back home.
Back visiting Rockport And this place is still GREAT!! 😋

This place was absolutely fantastic! The from the food to the service. First off I want to say how much we appreciated Nikki who assisted with our order and service she is absolutely top notch. If you can grab a seat in her section. The food came out quickly which wad awesome. We had a sampler appetizer to start with with was very good and a good portion of food as well. We had the fried shrimp and a large loaded baked potato which was in my opinion perfect. Everything came out hot and fresh. Their desserts look delicious but only one of was still hungry enough to order the banana pudding. Overall I definitely recommend this place for over-all variety and service. I will definitely be eating here again.

Good shack of Texas bbq and Texas seafood. I got the catfish plate with baked potato and potato salad. Catfish was battered really well. Fish was tender and baked potato was really soft. My son ordered the shrimp plate and he loved it. It came with steak fries. My other kids split the tenders and fish fillet kids meal and they devoured it. The chicken was good to their standards. My wife ordered the brisket and sausage plate. Brisket was smoked really good and tender. My other son is a pork rib fanatic. The spareribs were smoked good. It had a decent smoke ring on it and for 1/2 pound of ribs he got 4 ribs. We ordered for pick up and I’m glad we did. The “shack” was crowded and there was a wait to be seated. Jeremy was hustling the whole time. Not sure if he was the owner but he was everywhere at once. Other staff members were friendly and were on top of tables inside the restaurant. Definitely eating here again when we come back to Rockport. AA++

This is a great little place. 2 of us had the loaded baked potato and the other 2 got the steamed seafood in foil. The loaded baked potato was awesome. Definitely worth the price. The other 2 said the steamed seafood in foil was good and was more than they could eat.
Our waiter was a friendly young man. I specifically asked his name to add to my review. But we were there a week ago and I didn't write it down. I think it was Cody. Anyway, he was excellent. Very attentive and helpful.
The banana pudding is some of the best you'll ever have. Unless of course if you know some sweet little old southern lady from Tennessee. Hard to beat homemade southern banana pudding. But the Shacks is the best I've ever seen come out of a restaurant.
All in all, If you're in Rockport, don't miss this great little place.
