We 'be going to Luigi's for almost 30 years so we must love it. While we miss Dominic at the door at the original place, the other staff members have been great
The best things there are:
Quality of food
Quantity " "
Service
Family atmosphere
Wine by the carafe
We haven't lived in So Cal for many years but whenever we're in town it is a must to eat there
Food was great and service was even better. Our server Lilia was extremely kind, delivered great advice on what to order, and really made the experience a great one. In terms of food, the Alfredo sauce is delicious along with the fried mozzarella. I'll def come back when visiting the OC.
PS: Don't skip out on the cannolis
When you Google Luigi's, you may find some pics of a restaurant with red leather booths that looks very nice so when you get to the actual restaurant, you may be surprised that it is very small and there are no booths. This is because there are still pics of their old location out there but the new location is much smaller and very casual. However, don't let this stop you from giving them a try because the food is still very good and everything is very fresh and the owner will work very hard to make sure you are happy! Be sure to save room for dessert as the cannoli dipped in chocolate chips and the rum cake are delicious!!
This is probably a well kept secret Italian restaurant that people local to the place don’t want you to know about. Because it’s really really good.
Nestled in a strip mall next to a grocery store and some other dining establishments you wouldn’t know about it unless you googled or Yelp it. We were over at Brea Mall and the kids wanted Italian food for late lunch/early dinner. So off goes my wife to search for Italian restaurants in the area.
We pulled up walked in and it’s pretty no nonsense. There’s about 6 or so tables inside and a few outside, looked at the menu and it wasn’t crazy loaded with dishes which for some can be a problem deciding what to order.
Here’s what we ordered 2 adults 3 kids:
Kid1: Margherita pizza (small about 4 slices)
Kid 2: Italian sub
Kid3: linguini with clams in a red sauce
Wife: cheese ravioli
Me: Italian spicy meat pizza (medium)
After we ordered we were given complimentary cheese garlic bread. Amazing, we destroyed it quickly
Shortly after, came our order. Portions were generous but not overly abundant as we stuffed ourselves with the garlic bread it was perfect.
Wife’s ravioli sauce was spectacular, rich hearty and herbaceous. My wife normally never finishes her entree and usually takes home the rest to eat later, nope not today she cleaned it.
Son’s linguini and clams was equally rich and thick full of little clams and you can see chunks of garlic. He powered that down and normally would eat anyone’s food if they couldn’t finish it, not this time he was stuffed. For a 16 yo to say that you know the portions were just good right for that growing boy.
Daughter 1 equally finished her pizza and daughter 2 couldn’t finish her sun because of the garlic bread she chowed down prior.
My pizza was great as well loaded with slices of Italian sausages and the crust was thin crust (the way I like it). I managed to eat all but two slices which I’m looking forward to eating later.
All in all great dining experience and loved the fact that it was a casual sit down restaurant with no frills just good quality Italian food.
Local Fullertonites don’t be mad i have to share this great place.
If your idea of Italian food is from a commercialized chain then this place isn’t for you. But if you want Italian, cooked by an Italian, and being served by his wife, then this is your place. This is a family run restaurant, and many of those who have been longtime clients, from their original location, come because we feel like family. And their calamari is the best! Oh and the fettuccine D’Angelo is so yummy. They might take a little longer, but good things are worth the wait.
They recently moved to a smaller location in Fullerton. There still some tables and a hi-top to sit in. No wine or beer yet. The menu is smaller as compared to pages and pages before, which is a good thing. We still love Luigi’s!
Although they have since downsized from the restaurant on State College Blvd. where they were located from the early nineties until the dark year 2017, they still have the same great food. Luigi and Grace are always friendly every time I come in to order food. I always look forward to my next visit.
Just a really good neighborhood Italian restaurant for weekly dinners or a quick lunch. Dining room is small but honestly I do take out myself and bring it home. Their sauce simmers all day, everything is made to order and from scratch. Had an amazing Chicken Parm the other day and it was HUGE! I should've been going here more often cause it's just good. Their Tortellini D'Angelo is just something unique. Homemade bread is great.
Definelty need to eat here more often. Priced are good and quality is better!
Food is delicious and very unique ! Feels authentic and everyone very satisfied. we order this for catering and there is always enough food to go around! Recommend the Calamari, Gnocchi alla bolognesa, and pollo marconi
Great pizza and pastas! Would recommend Luigi's Special pizza (basically a combination), Baked Ziti, Margherita Pizza, and Cannolis. Pastas also come with fresh bread. The Cannolis are SO GOOD!! The place itself is a bit small so would recommend for small groups or take-out.
Celebrated my son Mario’s 26th bday today. We were welcomed as family and the food was amazing!!
This the. Est family owned Italian Restaurant ever we have been eating their Italian eats for years all the way back from 1984 on State College blvd. Anaheim
