Rafi Ristorante Italiano

So, my hubby and I was lucky enough to finally have a date night in a long time. We decided to try this restaurant after realizing everything was packed for dinner (I should've planned a little better). OMG! Where do I begin. First of all, when my husband called to check on whether a reservation was need, and if there was a "dress code", the gentleman responded by saying, "no, just come you're like family." He was right! We felt right at home when we walked in. The restaurant was nestled away in a corner, and there wasn't the normal dinner crowd waiting for the first available table. I loved the ambiance and the music. It felt like we were in Italy. The food was amazing! From the appetizer to the main course to the dessert, I was in heaven! We started with the mozzarella and tomatoes, and it was so fresh! For the main course, I had the lasagna and the sauce was incredible, and my husband had the seafood platter and I could literally taste how fresh all of the ingredients were in a huge dish. It wasn't heavy at all. We had the cannoli and cheesecake for dessert, and it was fantastic! Overall, I was pleasantly pleased with dinner at this restaurant! Everything tasted fresh and delicious! I cannot wait to come back!

Nice Italian restaurant in a convenient location. The sauces all appear to be house made and fresh. The atmosphere is pleasant and clean. They are not shy with their bread and the portions are a good size. We had a pretty large party and they handled us well. The prices are decent and you feel like you've gotten excellent value for your money.

A small, family owned and operated Italian restaurant. This is the real deal folks. The authentic food was absolutely delicious. We had the calamari marinara appetizer which was great and very tender. The owner came over to introduce himself and couldn't have been friendlier. The experience was like going to my Italian friends house for Sunday dinner.

I have a small white pizza lobster ravioli. Lobster ravioli was a special and didn't have a price attached to it. I was taking back a bit when I found out it was a $20 item. The ambiance of the restaurant is very dark. There wasn't a lot of people in the restaurant. Restaurant is part of a commercial building off the street and there is a lot of foot traffic that goes there. Having said that the ravioli and a white pizza we're done great. My recommendation is go there for the food not the ambiance

On 31Jan2020, my daughter and i decided to try this joint out. I kept seeing it going north on Route 15, and my curiosity had been piqued. The place did not look like much on the outside, but inside was quaint, with candlelit tables and several patrons. As we were seated, a large party came in for a birthday celebration; we instantly realised our service will be slower, due to the other party! We ordered our food (i had the chicken parmagiana and my daughter had stuffed shells with sausage). Surprisingly, our food came out quickly, and was quite delicious! There was a hiccup with our iced teas not being refilled quickly, but the staff was understandable busy. We both liked the joint and the food, and will definitely come back!

This is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best Italian restaurant in Frederick. I have YET to eat anything here that was simply amazing. I love alfredo, and the fact they make it there fresh every day ... it is heaven. I've eaten at my fair share of Italian restaurants around the country - even dined with real Italians who cooked authentic Italian food, and I can honestly say Rafi's is still one of the best places I've ever had Italian food. With that being said, it surprises me so much that when I go there with my wife, the restaurant is almost always empty. Granted, it's probably not in a great spot location-wise, but seriously, if you haven't tried this place - and you love Italian food - go there tonight.
