Firehouse Subs

So we went to this place for the first time for lunch and the people who work there are so friendly!.. they greeted us all together in unison (which was totally not creepy hahaha jk).. and they took my order to the T.. and helped me with different choices and checked back with me to see if the subs we're good for me... I felt really well treated and served. Amazing food to begin with and absolutely lovely customer service :).. keep it up guys!.. will be back for more food !!!

I love the subs!!! My go to is The Hook & Ladder! However I would not recommend ordering ahead. I had an experience tonight where I ordered well in advance (1/2 hour) and when I arrived (on time) 3 people were ordering at the counter so I stood at the appropriate spot where a sign indicated "online pick up". Two people were behind the counter, 1 taking orders and 1 making subs. They both saw me standing there but neither approached or spoke to me. Thinking that the one making the subs was still making my order in addition to the counter orders I waited. 10 minutes later after the counter orders were complete the "sub maker" took off his gloves and went into the back room. Finally the order person looked my way and I asked her if she had an online order ready. She said yes and gave me the prepared order which was sitting on the back counter (perhaps on a warmer/toaster of some sort). I only live 4 minutes away and by the time I got home they were only slightly warm in the center. Again I love the subs but I think from now on I will order when I get there.

Update: I last posted this several months back, but I continue to love this place even more. I rarely give 5 stars out, but this place is so deserving of it, the staff are incredible, they even remember me and sometimes my name. Anytime they run a drive for donations, they are always so passionate about it. This place is great, they have an assortment of virtually every hot sauce you can imagine from mild to super hot. Their subs are mostly toasted, which isn't usually my thing, but I love this places subs. The rolls hold together well, the melty cheese is fantastic providing a perfect base for the hot sauces. The theme of the restaurant is also perfect and as many others have said here a simple but clean interior with lots of seating.

We went here because I had eaten many times at one in Indianapolis which was always good. We ordered one small sub to go. The six people working in the restaurant were preparing large orders that were evidently called in. We waited 25 minutes for the small sub. We opened the sub several miles from the restaurant to find it was made wrong with ingredients that were asked to not be included. So I paid and waited 25 minutes for a sandwich that went right in the trash.

The food is always good. It can become busy during lunch hour-really busy, but it is worth the wait. The Firehouse greeting is also a nice touch. On my most recent visit, my sandwich was given to another customer, resulting in a 30 minute wait for me. They resolved the issue by giving me a card for a free sandwich and brownie for my troubles. They were also extremely apologetic. Mistakes happen, but they become easier to forget when a business resolves it the right way.

Rhis was my second visit to Firehouse. The first was years ago. I was greeted when I walked in. The lady behind the counter explained the menu and the process. Everyone was friendly. They called me by name when they delivered my sub to the table. The sub was good and warm when it arrived. Is it the best sub I've ever had? No. Was it tasty and a good value? Yes

When I first came in to this location, I gave a raving review. Was a holiday weekend and no one was in there. Have gone back two times and it has been subpar. When I pay 10 for a combo meal I expect to get meat on the subs at least. Now that is a total of $40 I have spent with nothing much on the sandwiches. Had the owner , BOB , call me and I am speechless. He thanked me for letting me know and said they put so many ounces of meat on their subs. Well, last two times the did not. NO offer of at least comping for one sub.. nothing. Since the owner does not appear to care about his guests, I no longer have any desire to go back in and spend another $ 20 on sandwiches with nothing on them. Attitudes like this is what causes businesses to close.. just saying
