Loved our first visit today and it certainly won't be our last. Amazing! Good feel in the restaurant, friendly staff and super tasty bbq. My hubby and I shared the pulled pork, brisket, beans, mac and cheese and grits! The meat was amazing, moist and flavorful. Loved the sweet bbq sauce. And the stubborn fountain drinks, so many fun and unique flavors. I'm sippin on the pineapple cream one right now. Great addition to Cool Springs!
My husband and I stopped by yesterday. Everything surpassed my expectations. Husband had brisket and grits, and I had pulled pork and mac and cheese. The specialty sodas were tasty too. The staff were so wonderful. Serves regular bbq sauce and white sauce. Wish you had smoked chicken though.
Smelled great walking in. There is nothing better than the smell of wood smoking.

Certified Angus Beef Brisket, fresh jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, Spicy Red Sauce, and house-made cheese sauce on a grilled potato roll.
Got Hogwood Beans on the side.

This is what I would consider an upscale BBQ joint. For example, I ordered the coleslaw and, to my surprise, kale was included. I did not see that mentioned anywhere, but, to me, it was a delightful addition. The macaroni and cheese was shell, not elbow, pasta. Where else would you get Hatch Chile Cheese Grits? (She said they were delicious.) The Icebox Pickles cucumber and onion bit on the side was delicious (and we ordered some to go after tasting it). The brisket was delicious. Theme: Delicious. Delicious. Delicious was the verdict on everything we ordered.
The food was delicious! The ribs were so flavorful and the brisket was very tender. They also give you the option for it to be more lean or marbled. We got our food pretty fast. Overall an awesome place that I would recommend to anyone that loves BBQ.
Stood in line for 20 minutes to order, had to wait for a spot to sit. The food was decent, but I've had better at my local BBQ joint in Cody, Wyoming. Mac and cheese, coleslaw were just OK. Brisket was moist and could cut easy with a fork, but it had a lot of fat. My wife had the brisket tacos and they had a lot of fat. We're both fans of slaw but didn't really care for this style. Warning: the noise level was ridiculous. It was louder than a pig wrestling match at the county fair. All in all, a decent meal for a decent price. And I'm still not sure what the deal is with the slice of Wonder bread.
Absolutely delicious. We tried all of the meats, all sides. Standouts were brisket, potato salad, and grits. Kids loved the smoked turkey. The Stubborn Soda selection was a great bonus. For dessert, don't miss the banana pudding - Gluten free!
From the time you walk through the door at Hogwood…and smell the aroma of hickory smoke…you know you made the right choice!
Their ‘lean rubbed brisket BBQ’ is the best I have ever had. And the smoked macaroni and cheese, and potato salad is simply amazing. Hogwood gives you a generous portion of every item. And it’s cooked perfectly. And don’t forget the mini-Moon Pie! Yum.
Even better than their delicious BBQ, is their phenomenal friendly service. It’s hard to beat.
Overall pretty good BBQ. I had the sampler with one side. Ribs and brisket were very good - moist and cooked perfectly. The sausage is great - slightly spicy with a little cheese mixed in. Turkey and pulled pork were a little dry, but still had good flavor. The slaw is outstanding. Beans were ok, but not a standout. The cornbread was slightly dry, too.
This is our go-to barbecue spot in town. It's the best barbecue I've had in the Franklin area so far and I've tried a lot of different places. Not only is the food great but the people that work here are also wonderful. They also have a food truck down at the Franklin Farmers Market on most Saturday mornings. They are serving some delicious brisket breakfast tacos. Ask to try the white sauce, it's incredible.
