Review L&l Hawaiian Grill - Franklin

Delicious Hawaiian food. The portions are absolutely ginormous. It is nice to have a taste of some pretty authentic Hawaiian flavors this far from California and Hawaii. The spam musubi is always good and the bulgogi fries are dangerously delicious. I hope this location remains because Nashville is much cheaper to get to than the West coast.

We were excited to try something different for a change but a little disappointed after we ate. I was worried when nobody was here and the Tupelo Honey Cafe was slammed with people. The Bulgogi fries were the best but covered in hot sauce so be warned. The fish tacos were good but bland. The pineapple rice was just ok and the manapua was awful.

I've had L&L many times in Cali, so I was excited to see one in TN, near my hotel. Everything we ordered was way too salty other than the fries. Bulgogi fries: fresh, crispy, all the components went well together. Spam masubi: rice to spam ratio was way off (refer to pic), I barely taste any spam or teriyaki sauce. Mixed bbq plate: meat was overly salty, good portion of meat though. The macaroni salad was basically 50% pasta 50% mayo, yuck. Poke bowl: the most disappointing. $11 for basically 7 tiny pieces of unfresh fish (refer to pic), doubt that was even 6oz. The sauce was so salty that I thought it'll out me cardiac arrest. The whole bowl was a throw away.

One of the best burgers I've had in a while. "The Big Kahuna" is now one of my favorite burgers in Coolsprings. It even has pineapple! Really adds a good taste to the TWO patties this amazing burger has on it. I definitely recommend trying this place out! Best part? It's only $10 and change 😁😁😁

Loved it! Food was excellent and my husband said they nailed it! He's eaten at the L&L's in Hawaii!!! Atmosphere was great as well!!!

I'm from Oahu and I haven't visited home in 2 years. After watching reviews of this place where it looked like other kanaka ran the place I was hoping to run into some of them when I passed through. Just to talk to someone, get a sense of that familiarity. I didn't really get the Aloha hospitality that I was hoping for and it seemed like the workers there were more interested in the sports game playing than what I wanted to order. Food was good but it wasn't the same. I miss home, and this visit didn't quite bring back memories.

Best bbq I have ever had in the US. I am not a fan of the "Southern" style bbq and being in Tennessee it is a little bit hard to find a bbq place that isn't like that. We will definitely come back here, wish we had discovered it sooner! Service was friendly, fast and efficient.

I wish I found them earlier, just recently visited this place and have been going often since then. Love their fresh tasting food and the owner is very informative and she gives great suggestions on good choices and takes care you get good experience... Cheers!

We were on our way home from vacation and stopped by to pick up lunch and dinner to go. We ordered: 2 BBQ Mixed plates, Chicken Katsu plate and Curry Chicken Katsu plate. Also an order of Ahi shoyu poke and Ahi spicy poke. Everything was very fresh and tasted just like it did back home in Hawaii. I highly recommend this place!

Do not know why we have not been before. We shared some of the best fish tacos we have ever eaten and an outstanding beef-rice bowl. Highly recommend. Will be on our go-to list. 😍

This place has just about become my default lunch destination. It helps that it's walking distance from the office, but even a thirty minute crawl in Cool Springs traffic would be worth the food here. From the delightfully authentic chicken katsu (cutlet) and uniquely Hawaiian Spam or Portuguese sausage Musubi (imagine a giant sushi roll with fried meat, delightful) to the over-the-top gutbusting goodness of the Bulgogi or Lau Lau pork fries (fresh made to order and smothered in cheese, scallions and sriracha!) there's something for just about every taste and budget. The decor is understated but pleasant, and the size is small enough to feel cozy without being cramped. The outdoor seating is nice too for when you don't have to rush back to the office and just want to people watch.

This place is off the hook, I order the ribs. They were good a little too much sauce, but I get I can ask for my sauce on the side. But I tryed my buddys chicken, and hands down best chicken I've tryed, will def go back and take my lady.

Drove by and saw this place and my friends and I decided to try it for lunch. The place is not big, and it was packed! A line to the door the whole time we were there, but you don't feel like you're in line for a long time. You ordered your food and got it within a few minutes. The food...wow! the food was soo amazing!! My friends and I all ordered something different and I tried them all...they were all so good! And the staff there were super friendly and always with a smile on their face, no matter how busy it was! Thank you very much for bringing something different to the area! Too much of the same types of food gets pretty boring pretty fast.

I can't believe I'm just now finding this place. So delicious! We fell in love with Hawaiian food when we lived in AZ. I never knew there was one in TN. Definitely our new go to spot. The entire family approved.

Great musubi. Simple, flavorful, and rice > spam ratio is right on point. The short ribs are delicious, and portions are generous.

Love the food here! And the portion sizes are incredible. Absolutely love the Hawaiian islands and miss the food. So I was so happy when L&L came to Nashville! Have been here quite a few times, but wanted to give a shout out to the great and friendly service from Kale (sp?) today. Have never had a bad experience here, but Kale was extra nice! Looking forward to our next visit and hoping I branch out and try something new - I am so hooked on the delicious Kalua pork...

Service excellent and food is the bomb! Mahalo to Marcus Mariota for coming to Tennessee so I can go eat plate lunch and malassada for dessert.

Ah, just like in Cali... Except for the 35 mile drive. I had the BBQ combo and it was quite tasty. A lot of chicken, and I almost forgot how much I missed the macaroni salad. But my go to is always the Spam Musubi! I got a couple of extra ones for later. If you wrap them in cellophane they come back to life in the microwave. Service was pleasant and fast. The "v" on the guy at the register was impressive. The food is good and affordable. I plan to be a repeat offender.

It is about time that we finally have Hawaiian food restaurant in TN. I have been here at least 6 or 7 times, I always basically ordered the same thing which is have to have LauLau plate. So ono. They only served LauLau on Fridays and maybe Saturdays if they have any left. And also their bbq mixed plate so delicious. Even though we have only one Hawaiian restaurant, we need more. Why can't we have them in major cities. Please think of building one in Murfreesboro, TN. I would go there often. But Mahalo for finally having Hawaiian food in this state. The food is so onoliscious. And plus, think about having gift cards for this. I found out from my kids that they were thinking of getting me L&L Hawaiian gift cards for Mele Kalikimaka because they know that I love this place. Mahalo

This restaurant is as authentic Hawaiian as you can get not bring on an island. I enjoy going there. It reminds me of my days on the island. Will be back soon!!!!

Good! Just like back home in the 808. Kalua pig and cabbage was ono but a little too wet. Rice was cooked perfect but they must have bought the tiniest rice scoops they could find, c'mon gangy no be pake wit' da rice! BBQ Mix was solid!

The pork was excellent as well as the spam "sushi". Will try to return during our visit.

Great food, taste like Hawaii! Had the BBQ Chicken plate lunch with a Spam musubi & manapua. UNO!!!

What a charming little place.  Other than a certain football player, I wasn't aware of a Hawaiian community in NashVegas.  But the folks we've seen dining here prove there is and since they know more about that cuisine than I do, I must assume it's pretty authentic.  No matter, I just know it's pretty darn good.  We've been sticking to the rice bowls and find them just the ticket.  There are different meat options, and they come with some vegetables and a couple of sauces are available too.  I like the pork very much.  It's moist, tender and sweet.  Their Hawaiian BBQ sauce works well with it.  They have some interesting sides, but so far, I've only had kimchi.  It's got a nice tang and some spice and makes a good addition to the rice bowl.  They also have plates, and the fried chicken (katsu) is a favorite of Herself.  Plates come with a scoop of rice and one of macaroni salad.  (Traditional in Hawaii, but the macaroni is pretty plain with just mayo and not my thing.)  They have something called "bilgogi fries" that are a plate of french fries smothered with beef, sauces and green onions that looks great.  That's for next time.  While it's a small place, it's spotless clean and the folks there are very friendly and helpful with questions.  This is a really nice change of pace and a spot we'll come back to without hesitation.

When Dan and I were at Tupelo Honey Cafe for their soft opening, I noticed a new-to-me restaurant nearby...  L&L Hawaiian Grill.  Um, what?!  Apparently it opened this summer, and I had no idea that I could get Spam musubi within the state of Tennessee, let alone down the street from where I work!
