The beef curry udon was amazing! Spicy enough to give you a kick but not too overwhelming~ a small seating area inside but it wasn't too crowded! Their gyoza & Japanese takoyaki were also really good~
O Udon Restaurant is Real authentic Japanese style Noodles shop. Strongly recommend, Chicken Paitan Udon/Ramen, Spicy Curry Udon, Sukiyaki Beef Udon, Homemade Gyoza
Great udon with appetizers. Will be there again
Yummy udon although it's kinda plain. very cheap! Great service. Recommend getting the $20 Groupon for bigger savings
Spartan atmosphere but really good noodle soups. Had the chicken lime udon bowl, added some chili paste, awesome.
Noodles were done perfectly, broth was from scratch, chicken was grilled adding some smoky flavor. Cilantro was way fresh, fresh cut lime on the edge of the bowl.
Would definitely eat here again.
Stopped in and was surprised. Cozy/ tiny atmosphere feels good. Served food in under 15 minutes. Was served the best beef udon soup ive ever had. Homemade noodles, broth, good meats.
Its so cheap here! :) I came here last night with my boyfriend and we tried the Kobe Beef udon and the Curry udon. Both were good and priced nicely at $6.95. I liked the Kobe Beef one better and it has a good broth, but the meat is definitely not Kobe Beef. It reminds me more of that meat you get at Yoshinoya, but the quality is a little better. Nonetheless, I will order this again! The curry one took a little longer to come out and I think the udon noodles for that one tasted a little tougher, but I'm sure it was just that bowl. Believe it or not, these were probably the most expensive items on the menu (besides the combos). They have even cheaper udon dishes starting at $3.95. The portions are THATT big, but good enough. They also have free tempura flakes that probably aren't all that healthy for you, but I added so much of it to my udon :( Guilty pleasures. Nice workers, but the seats were kinda sticky .. Other than that, I'm glad I finally got to try this place and will come back again in the near future :)
I've been looking for other udon restaurants other than my usual and this popped up. It's a small place with a very street corner vibe to it; I like it. After seeing some pictures from other yelp pictures, I went with my order: Spicy Beef Curry Udon, Deep Fried California Roll, Bonito Crab Rice Bowl.
The rolls were just amazing. Best rendition of California rolls I've ever had. I could easily easy tons of it if given the chance. It was a rather large roll with great texture and perfect sauce to to it off. Then came the Crab Bowl; and it looked delicious. At first I had thought it a bit dry and too much rice, but the more I ate, the ration between rice, crab, sauce, and other misc ingredients began to mix perfectly and it all turned out for the better. Then I big one came: Udon. It arrived in a steaming hot kettle and when opened, the curry was still boiling hot. That was impressive. After it cooled down and took a sip of curry, the texture was spot on with a good amount of spicy for a little kick; not watery or super thick, just right, even after it cooled down. The texture of the noodle was also great. It's easy to tell this was hand made, as stated on their wall. Excellent quality noodle and great presentation
While eating I saw posted on the wall staring that since all their noodle was hand made, they only have limited quantity. Completely understandable, especially if you consider the time and effort it takes to make good quality noodles. I found some of the negative yelp reviews that complained about running out of ingredients hilarious: seems obvious those people don't understand the process of making hand made food.
Overall, very impressive. I intend to return and try out the remainder of the menu and bring others here. I'll have to sample the ramen meet to see how it stacks up to my favorite usual ramen spot.
Really good food and nice server. Unfortunately I noticed there was a dead mosquito in my tonkatsu shoyu udon ramen and I had almost finished my food already.
They were really apologetic and comped it and said I could order something else to go. The juicy chicken side is good too. Broths are very nice here and noodles so fresh. Ordered chicken paitan udon takeout. I'd come back though bc the food speaks for itself.
You need to really be a fan of authenticity and focus on the noodles here. There is nothing flashy, or gimmicky about this udon.
When you walk in, it feels like a traditional noodle shop in Japan. Young, hip Japanese men taking your order and preparing the food.
The udon noodles are handmade and perfect. The broth is very simple and authentic. Lots of dashi flavor. I am just afraid many people may not notice or appreciate this.
They used to have fresh green onion and ginger you could put on your Udon, but I didn't see it. They did have extra tempura crispies you could add.
I feel that the udon as a whole could use a little more. Maybe some fish cake or other ingredients to jazz it up a bit?
I had the tempura udon and the tempura is served on the side. All that was in the bowl was the udon, broth , and some green onion. I think it could have used some more things. Like fish cake.
Overall, well done and tasty and very authentic.
