Holy moly! This place was amazing! Our first time there, very busy, but our server Amy was great! We tried so many things from fried pickles, to oysters, to lobster bisque even crab cakes and crab legs!!! We will be back! Looking forward to trying other items on the menu!! The oysters were amazing!!! Thank you!!
My favorite place for over 30 years. Loved the old place the best though it was very small. It had a great ambience. Best hush puppies ever. Always get the whole catfish dinner.
This is THE place in Ft. Worth for oysters!. We've been dining here for a long time. There are plenty of tasty items on the menu, but first and foremost, this is an oyster bar.
Raw, Rockafella, Laredo or fried. They are all good. And unlike any other place I know that serves oysters, size determines how many you get. If they are large, stated amount is what you will get. Medium to small, you will get more.
This evening, we started with the raw dozen. We got 14. We shared a fried oyster and catfish with grilled shrimp combo. Menu states five, we got eight.
No "r" in the month, no problem because they have them brought in from waters where it is safe to harvest them.
Bottom line, try whatever you want, but don't forget the oysters! And if they don't get something right, let them know. They do care about making sure you are satisfied.
Appetizer was an order Oysters Laredo: baked with salsa, pico de gallo and Parmesan. Great flavors and perfectly done. These are delicious.
My entree was the Combo Platter with fried scallops, Crawfish Sausage, with Veggies and Rice: batter-fried scallops were a mistake (scallops are watery in nature) but that sausage was delicious. Veggies were crisp and flavorful and the rice was nicely done.
My dinner companion had the baked red snapper (perfect), veggies and fries (limp but tasty).
Overall it was good food. I liked it.
Fried seafood goodness. Well, I have to admit... I'm not a well-seasoned seafood patron. C'mon, I grew up in the metroplex. BUT, I did take a trip up the west coast last year and had fantastic seafood in San Francisco and Seattle. I think that qualifies me to say...
I like J&J Oyster Bar. I've had their fried shrimp and fried oysters, their yummy greasy fries, I seem to recall some great coleslaw. Oh, and a catfish po boy that was impressive. I would love to go back and try some of their non-fried fare. I couldn't get into the lobster bisque though - had a really strange flavor that maybe is authentic or others like? The waitress politely exchanged it for some good ol' clam chowder.
Be aware, When I leave here my clothes usually smell like grese. They might need some better ventilation.
Visiting from Houston... Had dinner here with family... Nice n quaint patio... Great for beautiful evenings out... Food was great... Had the salmon n would definitely recommend it!
Just don't order the hush puppies
GREAT service.. We showed up at 9:52 PM on a Thursday night, 8 minutes before closing. We asked if they were still open, and we were very cheerfully told to come in and sit down. I know the staff must have been tired and ready to go home, but they treated us like we were regulars. The food was good, too. Whole catfish was cooked just right, not overdone, and the raw oysters were very fresh. Only complaint was that the oysters were very small - but with the oil spill this summer, it's that way all over town, so I didn't bother to say anything.
Grilled tacos & veggies. I had their grilled tacos with pico de gallo, slice of avacado per taco (3 in the meal). This entree is served with cole slaw, lettuce/tomato and lemons. Your choice of sides included fries, steamed broccoli & cauliflower or grilled squash & zuchinni. I opted for the grilled veggies and they were tasty! They were cooked a minute too long and were a little on the soft side. The tacos were excellent, with an great spice and the creamy avacodo slice was heavenly. The service was great as my drink was never empty, my emptly plate was promptly removed and the waitress was friendly.
A Good Lunch On A Rainy Day. We arrived for lunch on cold, rainy day (Stockshow weather) and got the last available table near the counter. We had the clam and oyster lunch specials and both the seafood and French fries were freshly prepared. We found the creamy coleslaw to be exceptionally good. The service was efficient and friendly and we were completely satisfied with our experience. It looks like a good place to try when the weather is better and the outside seating area is available.
Fish Tacos & Beer!!!. I love, love, love,love the grilled fish tacos! I've had them crispy, too...actually, both are good. They updated the outdoor patio & made the tables more comfortable. Fun to watch the grackles snatch saltine packets off the tables.
We heard the chili was good, but we were pleasantly surprised by the gumbo and fried okra. Of course, the oysters Rockefeller were great also. Everything came out hot, fresh, and very quickly. So hot and fresh that I burned my mouth more than once on the okra 🙃 Oh and the chili was very good with big chunks of meat. It's very filling and absolutely worth $12. We will definitely go back to try the other varieties of oysters, shrimp, and more gumbo!
Nice small spot, The menu was good and broad. Unfortunately, they only had one waiter handling about 7 tables which is unfortunate for her. She did her best to provide us good service and we appreciate her. The food was pretty good and had good flavors! We had Cajun Oysters, Ceviche and crab cakes. Premium price for these dishes.
The oysters, catfish and fries 🍟 are ALL that!! Try the fried onions (in pic) and the catfish pieces are LARGE. You gotta try the raw and cooked
oysters ... OMG 😱!!
My 15 year old son and I have been coming here for a couple of years and it is our favorite place to eat and hang out together. The fried mushrooms are our favorite thing and it's just always a great experience altogether.
We had a super cute outdoor table with little lights hanging and a nice breeze. We had oysters on the half shell and there where amazing. We definitely intend to go back and try the other menu items. Service is excellent!
Love coming here every once in a while and treating myself to a feast. The baked oysters are super good and so are the catfish and shrimp! The staff is super nice and it’s a great place to just hangout and eat.
EXCELLENT Quaint Oyster Bar. Staff R Absolutely The Best!!!! SCRUMPTIOUS FRESH Oysters on Half Shell. Love the Oysters Rockefeller too!!! Boiled Crawfish may NOT come woth Potatoes n Corn; None the less, TOTALLY Worth it. They have one of the BEST Shrimp Cocktails, Around. Variety of Tabasco n Hot Sauces with Icy Cold Shiner Beer. Competitive Prices for this Cuisine. We Love Love Love Coming here.
Some of the best, closest to fresh out of the water Oysters that I have ever consumed. The crawfish the Ceviche is wonderful as well. Everything on the menu is worth coming back for. I will be back next week for more Oysters.

Our son enjoyed his chicken strips while we dined on super fresh and delicious oysters! Wait staff is awesome! Totally try the fried mushrooms! They were BOMB!
