I got meatloaf, collards, Mac & cheese. Everything was really good except I didn’t care for the Mac & cheese, it was just ok. My favorite thing was the collards and cornbread, it was so good. They give you a very generous amount of food, well worth the money. I can’t wait to go back and try something else.

The food was AMAZING. The restaurant has a true home feel and the smothered pork chops were probably the best chops I've ever eaten. I will be back!

Food from the Heart!!!. I loved my visit to Madea's, which was a birthday treat from a very good family friend. I must say she couldn't have picked a better place. Me being an avid fan of seafood; Madea's made me forget all about my seafood cravings. I had the pleasure of ordering the oxtails and they were to die for!!! The hot water cornbread left an everlasting impression on me! The portions allowed me to take some home to enjoy later. The atomosphere was inviting and the staff was so very friendly and accommodating. By far one of my favorite dining experiences!! Keep on doing what you're doing Madea's!!!!

Whole Lotta Love. There definitely is a whole lotta love running through Madea's. Two friends of mine and I got to experience this first hand today when we decided to go there for an early supper. Trying to locate Madea's was made easier by using GPS. It is located in an area you would never expect, near a number of warehouses on the east side of I-35 in Everman. Soul music was blaring outside of the restaurant, just priming you for the delights inside. Upon entering, the music follows you indoors, albeit not as loudly.

The interior is simple. Most of the decor has probably been there for years without much change. That is quite all right because for my money I want all of the concentration to be placed on the food. And it is. Many of the most popular dishes are served right from the holding trays to your plates. They had run out of the meat loaf, so I had their chicken fried steak with cream gravy. This came with three side dishes as most of the meals did. My choices were okra & tomatoes, cheese and broccoli casserole, and green beans. One of my friends had fried catfish filets, the other smothered pork chops; they both had some of the sides I enjoyed as well as yams.

I can't begin to tell you how great the chicken fried steak was. I'm glad it wasn't larger than it was. But it was huge (see photo). So tender it was, that I could have cut it with a fork, which I did at one point. It was really good. I ate it all and didn't feel guilty one bit. The sides were equally good. I sure enjoyed the okra & tomatoes. I remarked that I could have made a meal of that and some rice alone. We all really liked the hot water cornbread too. I had never had that style before, super crisp outside--really flavorful. The others enjoyed their meals too from what I could tell. There were no leftovers to speak of.

Since we ordered from the line, we really didn't need service other than to get lemon for the catfish, which they unfortunately did not have, but did have cocktail sauce. They also came by to check up on us and to refill our drinks. A finer southern meal would be hard to find, a nicer group of folks preparing it and serving it with such love would be even harder.

Comfort food. Had a huge lunch here. Entree and 3 sides, plus cornbread. Left there feeling full of love and committed to skipping dinner. Got the chicken fried chicken with the brown gravy. OMG!

Great Place. My daughter and her friend went to eat at this place and the food is great and the the portion size is great. I had smothered pork chops and daughter had ox tails and her friend had friend catfish and everything that we had was seasoned and taste great. I will being going back to this place for some good down home cooking. I live in Plano and it is worth the drive.

I drive 50 minutes, and they never disappoint. I love their beef tips and rice. The chicken and dumplings were satisfying today as well. Food is seasoned well... not overly seasoned.

Bring your appetite because Madea's will bring the portions! The food is very good & the ladies are helpful. Had the smothered porkchops, greens, okra and tomatos, broccoli cheese rice & saltwater cornbread. The red Kool-aid was a definite bonus!

On my visit to Madea’s I ordered the chicken fried chicken, candied yams, Black Eyed Peas, and cabbage. I ordered a side of mac & cheese that was good but definitely could have used a little bit more seasoning. While the food alone would have made for a remarkable experience, the exceptional service provided by the staff elevated my visit to new heights. Every member of the team at Madea’s exuded warmth, hospitality, and genuine care. From the moment I entered the restaurant to the moment I left, I felt like an honored guest. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Their politeness and genuine enthusiasm added an extra layer of joy to the entire experience. 10/10

Food was delicious. Meatloaf was seasoned well with a tomato sauce on top. I was happy that it didn't taste like ketchup, but more like a spaghetti type sauce. Macaroni was super cheesy. I tasted my Love beef tips and they were SOO good. Tasted just like a Sunday roast.

Madea's is amazing! The food is beyond delicious and the portion sizes are insane. If you can finish one of their lunch special plates, you must have a bottomless pit for a stomach. Once you eat here, you will come back again. Promise.

My first time here. Great food! Very fast service. I had the fried pork chops with greens, mac and cheese, and yams. It was awesome to see hot water corn bread on their menu. I haven't had it in years. My friend got the beef tips. They were just as good as the pork chops. I can't wait to go back!
