Mojito was well made. Service was great. Got the special fajitas to share. It was plenty for 2. The quail were an excellent treat. Next time, I’ll just get those.
Family friendly and casual, just relax and enjoy a great meal.
My family are so happy to have discovered this restaurant in our area. The food is always wonderful! We choose something new all the time and yet to be dissapointed. Steak, chicken, fish or just appetizers the food is always great. We make a point to go every week -it's one place we all agree on!
I always believe that Fajitas are a good litmus test for Tex Mex. Guess what? They have INCREDIBLE Fajitas! Margaritas are strong and restaurant is clean. The wait can be quite long though. I recommend showing up early.
The food is really good. The only problem I have is that there is no consistency in their hours of operation. They close 9:30 during the week, 10:00 on saturdays and 9:00 on sundays. I have never seen a restaurant with such sporadic hours. I went on a sunday at 9:20 to find them closed. I wish they would stay open till 10:00 7 days a week. So disappointed.
Great food and service. I had the Pastor plate and it was a lot of good food. If you leave hungry you have issues. I highly recommend stoping in and having a great meal.
Average. The chips and salsa are pretty good however their entree's are average. I love their sopapillas. Friendly wait staff, great service however I've had better mexican food in California.
Awesome Food. We don't need to look any further for great Mexican food. We ventured into Los Molcajetes and it was a welcoming experience. Fast and friendly service, great food, good prices, all around wonderful experience. Will be having dinner there more often.
The frozen swirl margaritas are to die for. The food is always fresh and the service is second to none. The fajitas are my favorite, dunno what the chef uses to season the meat bit its very addicting. I have been to this restaurant more than 100 times since 2007 and I have never had a bad experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you like great tex-mex and the best margaritas in town.
Excellent. My husband and I ventured into Los Molcajetes restaurant and were overcome with the wonderful aroma of fajitas and pleased with the family friendly atmosphere. The waiter was attentive to our every need, even my husbands insatiable thirst. My husband is a huge ice tea drinker who says they have the best ice tea in town. While waiting for our order we enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were fresh, thin, crispy, and salt free (a blessing since we are watching our salt intake). The salsa is mildly spicy with a side of hot if you want to add it to make your mouth cry for more. We received our food hot and it was mouth watering good. My husband had the fajitas and I nachos, they were amazing! I highly recommend, Oh, you must try the frozen margaritas Enjoy!
The Line Begins Behind Me. Just when you think you figured it all out. . . someone throws you a curve. I thought I understood all about Mexican food. To me it all tastes pretty good. Some Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants are better than others, and I guess there are few bad ones in North Texas but what fooled me was how great Los Molcajetes really is. I don't know what they do, but from the salsa and tortilla chips they serve at the table, to the entree it is magnificent. They serve two salsas a thin, rustic tomato-based pico de gallo type salsa which has a definite cilantro tang, and a piquant habanero salsa which comes in a smaller plastic cup. A little of this goes a long way. I had the mole enchiladas (see photo). Their version of this popular dish was great! They have about twenty different daily lunch specials. Curiously, I used to think that this restaurant was sort of fancy, but it is very casual with concrete floors, wooden tables and several televisions hanging throughout the main dining area. They also have a full bar. The food came out really fast too. The server remarked that after the lunch crowd the food preparation takes no time at all. What a surprise this was to find such a good restaurant in my neck of the woods. You learn something new everyday!
Service was fantastic and the only reason my rating wasn't lower. Amanda was great taking care of us. Very quick and checked on us many times. Food was so-so. The rice was cold and the salsa was really bland. All the food was very seasonless. We were really looking forward to finally trying this place because it's always busy and the reviews were high. Very disappointed.
Had the Combo lunch fajitas, was just the right amount of food. Decent price. Unbelievably fast, it's almost as if they know what you want before you order and are eagerly waiting around the corner with it. Waiter was polite but his voice was so deep I could hardly hear what he was saying. Definitely recommend the beef fajitas.
really fast service for lunch, even tho it was packed. the salsas were good. i liked the spicy one better. food came out really quick for being busy. if they only made thier own margarita mix, it would be 5stars in my book
Best Mexican restaurant for sure! Everything is delicious, and really fast.
My favorite dish is the beef fajitas, and fav drink black Diamond margarita.
All good portion for the price.
My kids always eat everything on their plates.
I got a shrimp cocktail, chicken tortilla soup, and sampler appetizer, and the food was great. The shrimp cocktail could use more flavor in the base sauce as it was kind of bland. I have had there other food, including fajitas, in the past and always delicious
First time here and won’t be the last! We were told 15-20 minute wait on Friday and night and waited about 25, but it was worth it! The salsa was so good we went through two bowls, queso perfection, brisket tacos and shrimp quesadilla SO good with huge portions. My husband and I could have just shared one! The shrimp quesadilla was stuffed with shrimp and the tacos we got on flour instead. Kids got typically chicken tenders and fries which weren’t anything special. Ended with fried ice cream and the BEST sopapillas I’ve ever had! Lost one star because our wait wasn’t super friendly but the food made up for it
Queso was creamy and good, big salsa was fresh but lacking a little flavor so I mixed in the hot stuff and made it perfect. Enchiladas were good but the tortilla was a little hard, had to use a knife. Rice was flavorful.
They were really efficient with seating the lunch rush, but my server was a little lacking.
We visited Los Molcajetes on a Sunday around 2 pm. They were busy and we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. This salsa was delicious and our waitress was quick to bring more chips and salsa when we asked for them. I ordered the quesadilla de camaron, but in my mind wanted the enchiladas de camaron. When the quesadilla was brought and I realized it was not what I had in mind, the waitress was very nice to change out my order for no price. However, I do not like frozen shrimp and it looked like that is what was used for the food. The taco salad was delicious and had good flavor. The Tijuana platter was just okay. All of the portions were very large and we had a meal for another day. I am not in this area very often and would probably not go back just to come to this restaurant again.
We had carry-out from Los Molcajetes on Western Center. It's a family biz, and everyone was so pleasant and upbeat! We enjoyed the most delicious fajitas ever; the meat, peppers and onions were very good and plentiful! The charro soup was so tasty that I wanted to go back and order more. The vegetables and also the chips and sauces were really good quality. I love this place, and my husband feels the same way.
I got the Pollo Plabano. It was very good. I couldn't eat the whole thing and took home leftovers. They were just as delicious. He got the Chicken Chimichanga. The chicken was very juicy and flavorful. We will be visiting again soon. We had to wait 20 minutes, but for a Friday night that wasn't too bad.
