The food is excellent and the staff is friendly. Prices are also reasonable. I like the variety of burgers and the shoestring fries. The shakes are very good too.
Bad part is always the wait. Took over 30 minutes to get our food. We only ordered two hamburgers and some fries. There didn’t seem to be that many people. Kinda baffling why it takes so long. Wish they could solve this problem because I would be back more often.

I like steak 'n shake but I don't know what happened. This was the worst experience I have had from start to finish. Walking into dirty tables and floors. We chalked it up to being understaffed so we cleaned off a table and proceeded to wait 45 minutes before I went up to ask if they forgot about us. The staff saw me and didn't want to ask what I needed because they knew and probably didn't want to have to deal with the headache from an angry customer. I stood up there for a couple minutes when they brought me the food and never asked me if I needed anything. The fries and onion rings were cold from sitting out too long probably due to the fact of waiting on the other part of the meal. I went home and began getting sick. I hope it is a coincidence. Just be careful if you start to experience the same thing at the beginning. I will go back and hopefully it'll be better, it'll just be a little while.

Used the drive through on my lunch break, took nearly half an hour just to get through the drive through. When they began to take my order, they asked what I wanted, I answered, number five with a large fry and large coke. They confirmed a number 5. Then went silent for 30ish seconds. Then came back “you said a #7?” I replied no. Then asked if I wanted a diet something. So I corrected them on my order. Got to the window and was charged the correct amount. I was given a regular coke though. I noticed they were short staffed so I walked inside and they lady immediately mentioned I was probably given the wrong sandwich and double checked, I was just trying to make sure I wasn’t charged for a large coke, I was fine with the regular I probably don’t need the sugar. But get back to work and they did indeed give me the wrong sandwich. Even when she double checked it. And they also switched to paper straws recently. Don’t recommend using them. They make your drink taste absolutely awful. I’ve never been opposed to paper straws. Save the sea turtles right. But whatever brand they are using makes your drink taste like transmission fluid.

The staff was very friendly. The food was hot and delicious. Not a long wait. I did notice they had to briefly shut down. Due to staff shortage. They had to turn away about 5-6 customers. Thats unfortunate for S&S and the customer. P. S. They no longer have the hot pepper chili's.

They claimed to not accept U.S Legal tender. No cash. Finally I decided to go ahead and pay with my card. I placed my order (2 lg chocolate milkshakes, no whipped cream) and 25 minutes later a girl brings these Dixie cup sized shakes. I said, "Sorry, but I ordered larges," she said these are large. They were less than 12 Oz. And then 2/3's of it was whipped cream. I double checked my receipt and sure enough, it said no whipped cream. So I asked for the manager. 10 minutes later, a woman comes out, looking like I was disturbing her nap. I proceeded to explain what was happening. She tried several times to cut me off and when she did say something thing, she was extremely rude with me. Told me if I have a problem with her I can call corporate.

Went through the drive through and was told I could only pay with card if I came inside? If I'm able to pay with card at all you shouldn’t inconvenience the customer that is using the DRIVE THROUGH. Employee. had an attitude when I asked why she couldn’t take my card to the other kiosk.
Steak and shake is lucky the foods decent, service is terrible, always!
Also the inside smelled like weed and dirty water. 10/10 would not recommend.

While our food was okay, fries were cold. The manager was also yelling at the staff constantly, and it wasn’t even busy. They even closed the lobby when there were only 4 tables of people. This is a standout experience at Steak n Shake after coming to these chains since I was a kid. I would not recommend coming to this location.

This used to be our go-to place and sadly after our experience today, I don't know if we'll ever go back. Initially tried the drive thru but after being told to "hang on" numerous times, we went inside, disappointing doesn't begin to describe our ordeal. Trying to use the touchscreen to place our large order while the employees were loud and unprofessionally distracting, was beyond annoying. Watched as our food sat, waiting to be bagged for over 5 full minutes, I would be more understanding if it was really busy, but that was not the case! When I asked for the manager I was first told he would be right up, then that he left and would return in a half an hour. I requested the rude young mans name, he refused asking why I needed to know! After receiving our food, he shouted obnoxiously "have a nice day!"
I understand that issues arose during Covid but for employees to be so blatantly rude, will never be acceptable.
