I was completely taken aback when I entered the restaurant. Steak ‘n Shake has eliminated their servers. The restaurant is now Fast Casual dining. You order from the register when you enter and pick up your food and beverages when your number is called. Along with the service, silverware, ceramic plates and glasses are also absent. It’s all plasticware and styrofoam now. The menu is greatly simplified as well. Gone is the Royal Burger and others. On a positive note, the food was hot and made correctly. So there’s that.

Staff is great! Food is better! But the manager was… strange. Me and my wife were eating when he came over and started to sing for her. Once he was done he asked her on a date. When we both explained we were married he started crying and ran into the kitchen. Strange experience.

Most of the staff are nice. I usually don't have any problems here. But lately it's not been great. The last few times my chicken has been cold and like rubber. (But they're supposed to drop the chicken when your order it so it should be hot & fresh) the ladies in the window look mad and don't have good customer service skills. Maybe they're just having a bad day but all of that combined kinda just ruins it ya know!?

Food was good however, the experience is completely gone. You order when you walk in, plastic silverware. You have to walk to the counter to get your food. Floors were sticky and tables were dirty. Also, you are asked to leave a tip after you order your food. I should be the one getting tipped, or the one making the food.

Ordered a burger all the way, and got one with only ketchup and pickle. Went in to get the stuff I was missing and when talking to the manager I could tell he had no idea what was even going on. I explained the situation and he started stumbling over his words which just made him sound less of management material. The receipt clearly stated the other sandwich we got was supposed to have lettuce and tomato and it was just the way the make it on the menu. This place has gone down hill so much, they take you order at the register and don't even have servers anymore. It has officially dropped to your average McDonald's or burger king type restaurant with dine in restaurants prices. Definitely won't go back.

Bathroom was atrocious with smells and trash. Dining room is open but no table service. Had #4 meal - bacon seemed microwave quality. Burger not fresh as I have experienced at Steak and Shake previously. Seemed precooked. Fries were good.

I ordered online and when I picked up my order the store was extremely busy.
I had a long wait but my order was exact and hot when I received it.
Steak 'n Shake is an outstanding restaurant with quality food items.

The dining area finally opened. Food was good but the fun experience is gone. Order your food at the counter and pick it up :(
