Best bagels in town. I recently moved from NYC and tried every bagel place in the area. This is the only one I frequent, even though I need to drive 15 minutes to get here. Only wish they had wild salmon like I was used to at Leo's bagels in Manhattan, but you can't get everything. Their iced "Cubsta" coffee is the best anywhere, because they make the ice cubes from the same coffee so it never dilutes.
Hands-down the best bagels in Fort Lauderdale.
I'm from New York, have lived in Manhattan and Queens, and am often out in Brooklyn, but I come down to Florida over the holidays. And well, the entire family has been desperately searching for a place to get bagels - FINALLY, THIS IS IT!
If you're a New Yorker who likes David's Bagels (East Village), Murray's (West Village), Absolute Bagels (Upper West), or even Bagel Boss from Roslyn (Long Island), then you'll love these. They're doughy on the inside, but crisp on the outside. The flavors are generous, just as you'd expect them. They even have Black Russian bagels. Excellent fresh and THEY TOAST WELL!
Their homemade cream cheese is something left to be desired, but who cares? I'm convinced that those defaming this fine establishment are somehow connected to the mediocre bagel shops in the area. One of them listed here even complained about the service. I never had that issue here, but if I did, who cares? It's about the bagels!
Wish that I could give this place a 6th star.
I just patronized their new store on.north Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. It was clean and cheery inside and some tables outside. The staff was very friendly and no.waiting. I bought bagels, sliced, and cream cheese. Fresh and tasty. No long wait like at Einstein's. Try it for breakfast or lunch.
This place is definitely worth a visit.
I went twice.
Monday Dec 14th 20015
Ordered a hamburger. It was pretty dry. Hard to finish. BUT ... it's a bagel joint. So why did I order a hamburger.
Tuesday Dec 15th 2015.
Order egg salad with plain bagel.
Wow ! Definitely the best bagel I have had in a long time.
One piece of advice for the owner. The way you hand out food is a bit weird. I heard my name called. But couldn't find who called it. No one at counter did either. Eventually someone said my name again and he was out the back in an employee area. So if you are going to walk food out then walk towards the customers not back behind the counter.
Great egg sandwiches. The bagels are really tasty but they never have a very extensive selection. The iced coffee is also really good, made with frozen coffee cubes so it doesn't get watered down
I have never been to a Bagel and Coffee place as fantastic as Brooklyn Water Bagels. I advise all people, from every race, creed, and religion, to add to your bucket list a pilgrimage to the Mecca of Bagel and Coffee places. I am highly angered that this is not the number one attraction in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I cannot recount the quality of the food because I was in such a euphoric state of mind during my visit. I have had recurring dreams about my visit to Brooklyn Water Bagels every night since the turn of the century. Did you know that this was President Jimmy Carter's favorite Bagel and coffee establishment? Well you do now! Ever since my first visit, I have lived in a sleeping bag on the south side of Brooklyn Water Bagels, crying myself to sleep knowing that I have to wait until morning for them to open. I do not consider anyone worthy of being called a human being until they have experienced the breathtaking presence of the Brookie.
A great oasis in the middle of the courthouse district. Oatmeal was delicious, though the omelette was sub-par. The staff is very friendly though, and the coffee is tasty as always.
I get food Ubered from here to work all the time and it's always so amazing! You get a lot for your money and the bagels are delicious! I need to stop inside one day.
4 stars because they don't open early enough. A real NY bagel joint opens around 430 right as the Newsday truck is dropping a stack of papers off. By 630am I'm already deciding what my lunch plan is at 11. Otherwise, I suppose it's as close as I am getting to Long Island when I'm down here for bagels.
