This place is really a 3.5 stars. I did not like the pig knuckles, noodles and the dumplings were just ok. The beans were excellent along with the lamb, chicken and frog meat. The place was a little pricey.
The taste is much better than before, and the price is affordable.
Authentic Northern Chinese Cuisine.
The service still has room to improve, but the food is so yummy.
Delicious food, had the pork belly with egg and bok choy, and lamb and sour cabbage stew
Mapo tofu was super good. The gou bao rou wasn't that good. Meat was dry and tough and the sauce was too over powering compared when eaten at a dongbei restaurant in China. The sauce there is balanced between the sweet, sour, and ginger and cut with enough thickened water to be able to taste the marinated meat.
Rick solid Northeastern Chinese food! I grew up in that region of China and this place is the best rendition of my childhood food that I’ve been able to find in NYC.
We ordered the glass noodles with tahini, tofu strips with hot peppers, the “three vegetables” dish, and fried pork strips. These are the signature Northeastern Chinese food as I remember them, and each one hit it out of the park. Delicious with just the right balance of tastes and texture. Zero complaints whatsoever.
Service was fast and courteous, an added bonus, but in all honesty I was too busy shoveling down food to care.
Good Chinese restaurant that serves more mainland style Chinese food and some seafood.
Portions here are generous - ordered 2 dishes for 2 people and we couldn’t finish it. The prices are cheap compared to other restaurants around.
Service needs to be stepped up a bit though.
9/10
Great Chinese food. I had their fish, dried tofu with beef, sweet and sour pork, and more. All plates were delicious and were shared among family members and friends. I enjoyed this place a lot!
We came in for a late lunch, so the place was pretty empty. We ordered the dumplings with fermented cabbage, hot and sour soup (it was a very cold day, and we were freezing,), and the loofah with shrimp. The dumplings and soup were very good. The loofah, what a surprise! It was absolutely fantastic. The melon was soft on the outside, but somewhat crunchy on the inside. We thought the shrimp were fresh, not frozen, because they were smooth and sweet. The sauce was subtle and delicious. It’s a clear sauce with a hint of seafood, so we thought maybe they made it with the shrimp shells. Everything came out at once, so another time we might ask them to hold the dishes we were going to eat later in the meal so they wouldn’t get cold. One warning, the servings are huge!
The food isn't top but way above average! Considering the price and quantity, the place deserves 5 stars.
