This is one of the best places to be in Key West if you are looking for some great vegan food. Again, like many other cafes in Key West, it's a grocery store + cafe. Great food. They have a low seating capacity - a majority of the folks just do a takeaway. Great staff.
Food:
We went for Pesto Rice and Grilled Tofu Sandwich. Both the dishes came with a side of salad and also had a good overlap of ingredients which we realized later on. Pesto Rice was totally amazing. The rice was well cooked and tasted great. The tofu was very well grilled and along with the rice and vegan pesto, gave an amazing combination. Grilled Tofu Sandwich was great. The bread was amazing - something which is also key to an amazing sandwich but often ignored. However, these guys nailed it. The filling inside was great - the freshness of avocado and the greens, along with the amazing grill on the tofu brought amazing flavors together. The salad with Tahini sauce on top was too good.
For drinks, we went for Bright Eyes (apple, carrot, celery, spinach) and a Banana Pineapple smoothie which was great. Bright Eyes is a must try.
Ambiance:
The ambiance as well is very vegetarian and vegan-friendly. In a tight space, they have tried to create an atmosphere that encourages vegetarian and vegan diet - with lots of books on the topic, a cool t-shirt that says "V for Vegetarian", a plate that says "Will travel for vegan food" and of course, the menu. They have a small seating capacity of 5-6 people inside the cafe (high chairs with a wooden platform against the wall acting as a table) and one round table outside for those who enjoy street view. A majority of their customers seemed to be doing a to-go.
Staff:
The staff was quite good and service was pretty quick.
Overall, a great place to have breakfast/brunch. Definitely to be tried if you are a vegan.
Quick fix haven. Best Smoothies with plenty of fruit and vegetable options. The FLT was my favorite. The store is completely stocked with vegan and vegetarian options. Quick and very friendly service.

Killer food. my gf ate half of my amazinh melt in yr mouth sausage sandwich when I was takin a piss. I'm breaking up with her tonite. hope it was worth it! old order taker lady was a retard but on the plus side she seems about 4 cigs away from dying.

Counter lady was a bitch however the food was amazing... Infact it was so amazing I ate half of my boyfriends while he was in the bathroom. Think he's breaking up with me tonite but it was worth it!
One of my favorite lunch spots on the island! Great food and service. Fresh and tastey!!
Absolutely delicious. A must-visit! Sugar Apple is a health food store with a café/takeaway combined within. All the food is 100% vegan, fresh, healthy and delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I've never had a bad meal here and there's nothing that compares in the whole of Key West.
Tina and Phil who run it are very genuine and really friendly. They have free parking at the side of the shop which is very useful.

Best and only exclusive vegan cafe in KW. Great food - great value. Basic digs. Open M thru Sa. 11 AM til 4 PM Tried the rest now try the best. Been here 35 years
Not bad...the specials are better than the regular items. They're good, but The Cafe and Help Yourself are superior in my opinion.
Great vegan restaurant. So happy there is one on Key West! We had grilled tofu with salad and rice, and grilled tempeh sandwich. Smoothies are also great. Highly recommend! It was delightful 😍
Our favorite vegan place in key west. Every year for 15 years 3 to 5 x a week when we visit we have lunch here. Food is always fresh and very good. Generous portions reasonably priced. Mostly take out at the cafe only a few seats for eating there. The store portion is well stocked and if they don't have something the owners will special order for you if you request it. Friendly employees and friendly owners as well. Highly recommend if you are vegan or vegetarian. The only downside is they are not open for dinner at the cafe. They are only open for lunch.
The best vegan food on Key West so good that we went twice on a short vacation. We got the veggie Italian sandwiches that have plant-based deli meat, dill pickles, and some of the best vegan mayo we’ve had. There is also a market for shopping for a variety of goods and groceries. This is a place you need to go to in Key West.
Such a great vegan breakfast today, we can't wait to wake up and go again tomorrow. Possibly the best coffee I've ever had (Jim's Hazlenut roast?)
What an amazing find! We really enjoyed every aspect from the vegan/gluten free food to the attached health food store. We were impressed by their selection! Thank you for the wonderful food and memories!
Excellent juice bar and vegan cafe with an adjacent organic market in the heart of Key West. We took our sandwiches to go for a picnic by the water. Lots of tempeh sandwiches and entrees (I love tempeh!). I could eat here EVERY DAY!
If you are looking for a great vegan lunch, this is your place. More of a to go place but there are a couple small tables if you want to eat there. The market is also very nice. Everyone is very helpful if you have trouble finding something.
Holy vegan mackerel! This place is ridiculously good. Had best tempeh reuben in my life. Juice is great. Soup is five star, etc. Etc.
I've eaten vegan all over the world, sometimes at very expensive places but this is top ten!
