Joel's Bbq

I thought there was some hints of good flavor on the brisket but nothing memorable. Could have gone on my trip without this stop and i wouldnt feel like i missed out on anything. The bbq sauce was just lacking and kind of made the brisket worst. Its better without the sauce. The potato salad was light mayonnaise and it just....honestly it tasted like there was no love in the food at all. Must have at least $5 minimum charge for credit debit transactions. The customer service was non existent. I didnt even get a hello or even a smile i just felt like a burden. I had a better experience at the gas station across the street the three amigoa they have food jerky smoke sauge there too i almost thought damn should of just ate there at the gas station.

This has been my favorite stop between San Antonio & Houston for a brisket sandwich for 20+ years but tonight the lady behind the counter threw those 20+ years down the drain! Arrived at 7:15pm & ordered my sandwich. She got an attitude when I asked for more sauce then told me I had to huury up & eat because she was closing in 5 minutes ! Any recommendations for a new spot will be appreciated.
