Star Sushi

Best sushi and excellent service, worth the drive up to the suburbs for a real treat in quality food. My parents live on this side of town and it is my trusted take-away when visiting, as it offers supreme Thai food and excellent vegetarian maki, which is so hard to find if you know what I mean. Definitely expedient, yet careful and helpful; it is a great place to dine-in, offering tasteful staples like Asahi and jasmine tea. The green curry and tom kha are also some superb digs. Five stars.

The food is good and standard for price and I love the proximity to my house. But, this review is about the customer service cuz good standard food close to home is easy enough to find. (Though- to say, I do prefer the sushi rolls to the Thai food). Here is why Star gets an enthusiastic 5 stars- we ordered take out and when we got home we realized they missed one of our nigiri. We were bummed but we had also over-ordered anyway so no biggie. As we were sitting down to eat my phone rang. It was Star Sushi and Thai calling to say they forgot part of our order and would happy to have someone deliver it to us. We declined because it was no big deal and we had plenty of food- but what amazing customer service!! I’ve had many take out orders incorrect but I have never had the restaurant call to make it right! It’s that kind of attention to detail that turns me into a loyal customer!

This sushi is absolutely incredible! After moving from Chicago and having so many amazing and authentic sushi (and food) options there, it was such a disappointment to come to Indy where every restaurant is a hit or miss, but this place takes me back to the good ol’ food festival days of Chicago and never disappoints! I’ve also never had to wait more than 15 minutes for mine, it’s always been fast and warm when I arrive to pick it up.
