Denny's

Today's service was super quick and delicious. The smoothie came out quick and was super great this go around. Server was on point and didn't skip a beat even though it was super busy. Lucked out when I arrived a table had just cleared up so we were seated pretty quick. Had a lot of people come in behind us. Was going to try a different place but decided to give Dennys another try cause last service was pretty bad. They did good today.

I took my kids and mom to Denny and I wasn’t as impressed as I used to be growing up and eating at Denny’s. I always try to order something I haven’t ordered when I go to restaurants I haven’t visited for awhile. The last time I have ate at Dennys was in July on my way to Charlotte airport. This time I ate at the local Dennys and I didn’t even finish half of my food. I ordered the ultimate omelette with hash and hash browns. My son ordered the patty melt, my daughter ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and my mom ordered the Sante fe skillet. The food wasn’t bad, it’s just not as good as I remember it being. My kids only ate half of their meals. I did like the French fries and their ranch. The coffee tasted like it has been sitting there and didn’t have a fresh taste. The waitress was very nice and did come back several times to check up on us. I took the rest of my food to go but didn’t even eat it when I took it home. I spent $55 for all of us and I’m glad I spent time with my family but not somewhere I am rushing to go to the next time I want breakfast.

Not sure if we simply arrived at an inopportune time or if there is an issue with wait staff. A waitress quit in dramatic fashion while we were waiting to be seated and our waitress had just arrived for her second day on the job. The food was good and though our waitress was a little slow, she got our orders correct and was very courteous.

So I was very surprised. The breakfast was so good. We were a party of 4 and there were no complaints. The wait for food wasn’t long even though it looked like they can use more employees. All of the staff were moving around quickly and checking in making sure we never felt forgotten. That’s always nice.

The last 3 breakfasts we’ve had here in about 2 months have been awesome!!! Who ever they have as their cooks need a raise!!!!!! I got the ultimate omelette with jalapeños added and it was so packed and cooked perfect!!! Husband has been substituting his hash browns with red potatoes and they have been crispy and perfect!! The hostess/server was super nice too! I hope Dennys takes care of their employees because they are what is bringing us back because we know the service and food will be great!!!

Congratulations Denny's, on a SUPERB late lunch experience!! In spite of being a location sorely in need of a remodel, the food and service was stellar. My waitresses greeted me warmly and promptly, even though they were busy cleaning after lunch rush. I arrived around 2-ish, and was carefully escorted across freshly mopped floors to my booth. I asked for extra time to peruse the menu, since my last visit to a Denny's was in the last century. LOL. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, and made sure my water stayed filled. They pointed out various menu items, and questioned me to find out where my tastebuds were inclined. Their suggestions helped me to decide. I ordered the new Plate Lickin' Country Fried Chicken with fried new potatoes and broccoli as the two sides. For dessert, I ordered the Apple Crisp Ala Mode This meal was so dreamily delicious I thought I would faint! The chicken breasts were just the right thickness, and perfectly cooked to juicy tenderness. The batter crust was fluffy, golden and crispy without heaviness. It was seasoned to pair majestically with the creamy gravy that was portioned on top. There was enough gravy to complement the chicken without making it soggy, as well as enough to dip my potatoes in. Speaking of potatoes...lightly seasoned and with a puffy fry on it that was delightful. The broccoli was seared with pretty grill marks to magnify a quite crisp texture. No mush here. Loved it all! To top it off.....Apple Crisp. Oh. My. GOSH! I haven't had such a delicious cobbler/crisp since I left the mid-West. The apples had a great bite to them, not quite crispy and definitely not squishy. The topping was crispy, crumbly, caramelized oatmeal with succulent cinnamon and sugar seasonings. It was the perfect blend of crispness and melt in your mouth comfort food goodness. Paired with a vanilla ice cream it was a heavenly finish to a birthday meal. If the staff wasn't so attentive, I'd have missed out on that dessert, as it's placed as kind of an after thought on the menu. I enjoyed my waitresses. They really were well-versed in their menu, and adept at making suggestions without seeming to push any one particular item. They were discreet in their cleaning, communicated well with each other, and offered one another assistance in their chores. As a former reataurant manager, I appreciate that kind of teamwork. Again, this was an overall stellar experience, and crew and team are to be highly commended.

Service and food was quick. But if it's cold out, bring a jacket. Everyone in the restaurant was wearing a coat. Some of them had there hoods up even. When I ask if the heat could be turned up, the response from the server was" well I'm running around so they didn't notice the cold". Wrong answer, thus I will take my future business elsewhere...
