Mikoto Japanese Mikoto Steakhouse & Sushi

Mikoto's was delightful. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and sat at the bar. The bartender was very attentive and the drinks were delicious. My miso soup was served quickly. The staff was very helpful with sushi recommendations. All of my friends enjoyed their sushi rolls. The food presentation is on point. The ginger is perfect, not too spicy. The vibe is nice as well. There were families sitting in the hibachi area and it didn't disturb the bar feel in the front. Great set up. I heard that the karaoke on the other side in the Sports Bar area is really good. I look forward to checking it out.

Called in Saturday evening and tried to make reservations but was told they don’t do it on Saturday. Upon arrival we waited for table of 4 for a little while but a party of 2 that arrived after us got sat before us on a table with 4 chairs and they told us they made reservations?! Haha The waitress definitely wasn’t attentive as she should be. The food were great! And they upcharge the price and added 15% gratuity to the receipt

Amazing cook but horrible service. Made reservations at 7, didnt get seated until 730, it took an hour of sitting there before we got any soups and salads and not everyone received their soups and salad. I never even got my drinks that I ordered so I had to walk to the bar and get it myself. The server gave us salad to go and was given "ranch" which turned out to be white sauce. Worst birthday dinner ever.

Very weird evening. The floor and bar are so sticky, not sure if that’s on purpose or just poor cleaning habits. The bar tender was not very friendly. Maybe she just isn’t a people person but she kept quoting what the law in NC is and how much liquor is to be in drinks when customers had a concern about their drinks. Letting them know she not going to loose her liquor license and such. She was very annoyed. I’ve never seen anyone act like that. Easy just to explain a drink to a person because maybe the lady didn’t understand what she ordered. We ask for our food to come out at the same time and she said well your food has to be out the way and out the kitchen we can’t just keep it warm for you😳because you want to eat at the same time. Really rude. Maybe I’ll come back another time or just order from the express side and keep it moving. But I hope everyone isn’t as unpleasant as she (bar tender) and the ladies were at the entrance stand was. Food was good though🤷🏽‍♀️
