Master Joe's

This used to be the best sushi restaurant around, now I would avoid it. Recently ate there and the experience was horrible. To start with the service. There were 2-3 waitresses and 3-4 tables with customers. Service should have been easy as no waitress had more than 2 tables. It wasn’t. Long wait times for every step from getting a menu, to order being taken, drinks, etc. Next issue was the food itself. The taste was fine but the portions seemed off. Like a roll that should have roe on it not having it. Another roll supposed to have eel but good luck finding the sliver of eel in it. Rolls aren’t supposed to be the size of coke cans, but they should have the ingredients listed on the menu. Make sure you order something like the imitation crab or tuna if you want to actually see the piece of meat.

The place has gone down hill. Prices went up and rolls got smaller. I ordered a $15 “chef’s special” roll and it was the size of a standard tuna roll. Ridiculous. Apparently some of these good reviews have no frame of reference of what a gourmet roll should look like. Someone needs to open a new sushi restaurant in Fairhope.
