Man this place is a gem! A true classic American Diner! If you are ever by Fairfield this is a must stop and eat at place!

I paid $4.32 for a side of veggies that was maybe 1 cup of veggies. With no seasoning. I came here because it was the only place that had a mildly healthy alternative. Did not feel like I got four and a third dollars worth of prepared food.

Update 6/24/2022: Had the Ribeye Steak and Eggs with a large Diet Coke. The Ribeye didn't taste as good as the New York Steak I had on 5/19/2022. The Ribeye was too salty and didn't have as much flavor as the NY Steak.
Update 5/19/2022: Had the Steak & Egg Breakfast Special. The steak was cooked to perfection and the scrambled eggs were very fluffy. 💯
My friend and I went to Mel's today after trying to go there on Valentine's Day. When we showed up at 8am on Valentine's Day the restaurant was closed and no one was there so we ended up going to Black Bear Diner in Suisun. We came today and found the Food was mediocre to Black Bear Diner. The $ paid was similar but the portion size was smaller at Mel's. The waitress was very nice and made our breakfast experience a pretty good one at Mel's.

I had a veggie burger which was very tasty - with French fries. As with everything I’ve ever had at Mel’s it was all very good. My friend had fish and chips and she said it was really good too. Love their breakfasts here too!

So of all the restaurants and or dinning I have been to this last year; I will have to say... Oh my goodness one of the best places I have been...I was in class. The host and waitress were very patient, they waited on me without being rude. They made sure we had what we needed. waitress Liz was very polite and came to check on the table. She was just so radiant and she loves her job and loves to make your experience feel as if you belong. Then manager the Tall man with Black hair saw I was cold... Silly me. Left sweater on bus... He turned on the patio heater.. and placed it next to our table . He was very polite.. I am so coming back again. The food was delicious. Eggs cooked just write sausage wasn't dry but warm to the right temp.. the coke wasn't flat or even over carbonated hot cakes didn't absorb all the syrup and butter instead melted and add the right amount of flavor for every bite. The burger jalapeno mel burger was cooked perfectly as well fries were warm and salted perfectly... Must go... Oh almost forgot ... Hand sanitizer at every table everyone was wearing a mask and they cleaned then sanitized the tables after every person; they didn't even use the same rag twice.... Amazing..... Thank you...

The service here was excellent. Clean restaurant and plenty of food for the price you pay. Well worth the visit. My only negative is they need to replace the booth seats.

Really cute place with great food. Awesome music and jukebox on every table. Food was cooked wrong but they remade it with no problem. Server was friendly.
