Closest thing to The Hat pastrami sandwich I've found! Good food. The restaurant isn't very clean though. Went during the week at lunch and it was pretty slow. The owner was the only one working. He was nice.

I am not a fan of pastrami and never have been.....Until I came here. The pastrami sandwich is the best I have EVER had and now I will only eat Barney's pastrami sandwich. If you want a BIG juicy and amazing pastrami sandwich this is the place for you. I HIGHLY recommend this place. It's a one man show and has been since the day that it opened many years ago.

Awesome sandwich. Chock full of Pastrami delicious mustard and pickles. Best Pastrami I've had in a very long time. Dont come for ambiance. But, come for good conversation and a great sandwich. You won't be sorry you came.

I would give Barney 5 stars like I hear he deserves, but Ive been here three times twice with a huge line of people he couldn't handle and the third time I showed up rite when his sign says he opens and when I knocked on the door he said he was going to open a half hour later. I Love a good pastrami sandwich and i hear the best about his, if I ever get to taste it I'll surely update this review.
UPDATE!! So I had a coworker stop in at Barney's who says he's been going there for years and he grabbed me a sandwich to try. I got it 20 minutes from fresh and will say the Pastrami was good with mustard and pickles on a traditional" Fred Meyers"roll with sauerkraut. Good sandwich but I wouldn't say great.it might had been at one time but I believe those days have past. I feel bad for Barney because I can tell this is his passion and time is growing short. I'd get one just becouse if I were you.

I've been coming here since he opened. Don't expect fast service at lunch time. I'm a pastrami sandwich lover and I've had pastrami sandwiches in numerous places and Barney's is by far the best. I challenge you to find one better. Enjoy!!!

They are SOO good, and I KNOW SANDWICHES! Make no mistake about it, this is the BEST pastrami sandwich you will EVER have. :)
Barney is a cool guy & makes it fun to go get the food too!

The term hidden gem or diamond in rough fit here. All of the effort goes into the food, not the decor, conversation or silly things like cold soda. You get it warm since there is no door on the soda cooler. The pastrami sandwich is straight up no screwing around great. Cant go wrong and the tamales are top shelf guilty pleasure food. Get your food to go the dine in option is very funky, too funky in fact. Barney himself is not a conversationalist but does what he does very well. The sign on the water cooler says out of order and the sign on the soda dispenser says no fountain drinks but a sign on the wall says yes we have milk and chocolate milk. Stick to the food, you can get a soda anywhere.
