I can't believe this restaurant only gets 4.3 stars. Be prepared. All the dishes are not only spicy but may made your tongue numb because of the Sichuan Pepper. Please order Hot pot Fish! This will blow your mind! This is definitely the restaurant that I would like to revisit to explore more dishes! Great job!

This is my go-to-place for Chinese food. So authentic! We live in Chicago proper, but still drive up to Evanston to eat here often. Their beef dish is amazing, so tender and well spiced. A real gem!

I absolutely love this place!! The food is authentic and delicious! The quality of the ingredients and the flavors are on point and I'm so happy to discover this place as I no longer have to make the hike to Chinatown for authentic Schezuan food. Everything was made really well. The service was also really nice and the place is also clean and they take proper precautions during covid. I highly recommend!!! We got #58 which is a Chef's Special of beef and vegetables such as exotic mushrooms cooked in a stone pot (my favorite). We also got the Sour fish soup with mustard greens and the Dry chilli wood ear mushrooms (omg so good!!) And the kids got more basic Chinese foods and dime sum. So happy!!!

Thank god for Peppercorns Kitchen! It is the only place in Evanston we trust for Chinese food. During the pandemic we phone in our order for pickup, it’s typically ready in 20 minutes, and they are good about special requests. (We always request no rice, no chopsticks—we use our own!) Favorites include cumin lamb, popcorn chicken, pea shoots with garlic, and fish soup.

Maybe I just ordered wrong but I was very disappointed. The hot tea was delivered cold, though the replacement was fine. The ribs with black bean sauce were all fat, the curdled egg with pork was tasteless. No one asked how my food was.

Excellent flavors and textures. Enjoyed Mandarin chicken, broccoli beef, and house combination with flat noodles all after starting with hot and sour soup which was a delight. Friendly service! A neighborhood gem!

We came in after we saw Peppercorns Kitchen on a recent episode of the show "Check Please." We had the spicy fish filet, the hot pot, and to be adventurous, we tried the Ox Tendon and Maw in Chili Sauce. Everything was great. We also had my go-to item, Honey Walnut Shrimp. We also asked for steamed vegetable in a light white sauce, which they custom made for us. They were very accommodating. I will come back again soon.
