I’ve been coming here for 5 years since my first month of moving to Evanston. I’ve also brought several guests here over the years. Being a vegetarian, this place has been amazing and often I am confused and spoiled for choice on what to order. During the pandemic, I’ve ordered take out and delivery several times. I believe I have tried everything entrée on their menu. Some of my favorites include the Mongolian stir fry, the pot pie and the Thai peanut noodles. The pot pie used to be a special on the menu until it became a part of their regular menu, probably because it was very popular ! I also like the lasagna and the shiitake walnut loaf a lot.
They have a great dessert section, although I’ve mostly been too full to try them out. Among the desserts, the chocolate cake and the tiramisu are my favorite.
Service has always been quick and wonderful, whenever I’ve come here.
It’s a great vegetarian/vegan restaurant in the Chicagoland and a must try regardless of whether you live in the north shore of chicago.
Diverse menu makes this an excellent choice for brunch. If you are craving bacon - just remember it is vegetarian. The service was prompt, the coffee fresh from self-sourced beans, and the food very tasty. One thing that is nice is that they will do both vegan and regular cheese - so if you are lookin got add some 'cure' to your morning they will pile on the cheese as requested. One thing I might suggest, they have a brilliant bakery with outstanding desserts available - if they add some breakfast pastry of the same caliber I would have been all in - say a Jefferson Donut or the like. The place was full - but they take reservations. Enjoy.
Very nice Vegetarian restaurant with global selection. Gluten free and vegan options available too. Loved the ambience. Parking is little problem. Food is really good and excellent presentation. We had enchilada which was okay, we loved the nachos which comes with their fresh salsa. Double chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet was delicious- must have.
Very nice vegetarian restaurant. A tad bit pricey, but not out of the ordinary. Absolutely love the ambiance! Seating available inside or outside for table service. Also has seating for the to go bakery side if that's all you desire.
Was impressed with the taste, quality and portion size of the vegetarian burger meal. The fries were really outstanding also.
The omelette was fluffy and tasty, the salad that comes with the omelette was nice and had a light house vinaigrette. The corn muffin was fine and I added the butter and Jam, it could of been served warm for a better experience I feel.
For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake. It was absolutely delicious!
Will definitely consider coming back, especially when I am in the mood for something from their cocktail and drink menu. The drink menu had some very interesting dessert cocktails.
Definitely appreciated the service also.
Thank you Chanel! Koi
We started out with the risotto appetizers. They were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The addition of a arugula salad & red sauce made this heavenly. My husband had Thai Spicey Noodles. He loved them. I have never had seitain (sp?). It was in a delicious maderia sauce with onions & mushrooms. The rice was perfectly cooked and the green beans were crispy. This place was fantastic!
Food and service were top notch. Nice ambiance. Street meter parking but Sundays are free (at least where we parked).
This place is SO GOOD! The first time I came was completely by mistake, they were still open and I was nearby. I had the Pad Thai and was really surprised how good it was. I came back for lunch another time (not even realizing it was a vegetarian restaurant 😆) and had the tostadas.. Again SO GOOD. This is now one of my favorites restaurants ever. Because the menu has many different cuisines I thought a dish would maybe suffer because of it but not at all. The dolmas too and flautas some of the best Ive had anywhere. The atmosphere inside is great and the staff are all awesome as well Ive only had nice experiences here. Oh and last time I was 30 minutes late to pickup my food and it still kept well. So impressed, this place is great.
My first visit here was last night. The staff, every one from cashier to hostess/waitress to bus people were helpful & attentive and never rushed us out the door.
The food is delicious, I had the Stuffed Risotto Cakes & the Shiitake Walnut Loaf—-absolutely awesome ! For desert I had the Spanish Coffee served with a slice of Orange & the cup rimmed with sugar. It was wonderful way to end the meal on a cold winter evening. Oh and I brought home a piece of Carrot Cake—equally delicious as everything else I mentioned.
