Great Food. Oriental Wok is a great place for Chinese food. The prices are very cheap and a great bargain! Although at times it may take a while before your order is ready, you are in no position to whine and complain when you are getting it for such a reasonable price and being helped by friendly staff. Even so, they do tell you approximately how long it will take. The only reason it wouldn't be done when you got there would be because you *cough*Kevin*cough* never learned how to use a clock and need to learn patience before you leave the house! The portions are VERY VERY VERY generous.
Whether you'd like to eat-in or takeout, Oriental Wok can meet your every need.
You can't beat Oriental Wok when it comes to reasonable prices and delicious taste. I dare you to try to find better Chinese food in Essex, or Vermont for that matter. Take a break from the old General Tso's (which is delicious) and try something new!
Kevin's review is completely inaccurate. The food and prices are fantastic. YOU HAVE BEEN "WARNED".

By far the best Chinese takeout I’ve had in a long time. We had the General Tao’s and Orange Chicken and they were both perfect. The pork fried rice and teriyaki chicken were incredible too! Full of flavor and spice, this will be a place we will return to!
This place serves hot and delicious food every single time I order it. The egg rolls are delicious and the portion is good because I have enough left over for lunch or dinner the next day every time. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.

My son and I are in the process of visiting every Chinese restaurant in Chittenden County, VT. We always order the same thing.
I order a chicken and broccoli combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll. My son orders a sesame chicken combo with pork fried rice and beef teriyaki sticks.
As a pretext, I must mention that my son and I have frequented Oriental Wok for several years now, with this being his favorite Chinese restaurant.
Price: $21.26 or $.26/oz is very reasonably priced with what we would find in Chittenden County.
Portion: 5.1 lbs between the two meals is quite generous and above average in this region.
Pros: - High traffic convenient location near Hannaford in the Essex Outlets in Essex, VT.
- Convenient high traffic location
- The egg roll was super tasty, perhaps the best in this region
- Delicious sesame chicken
- Provided 1 duck sauce container & 2 fortune cookies
- The newer microwavable containers are being used
- Generous portions at a reasonable price
Cons:
- They didn't provide soy sauce packets, napkins or utensils
- In general, the food lacked flavor
- For me, the rice makes or breaks the meal. The pork fried rice lacked flavor and tasted very average.
Impression: Convenient Essex location near Hannaford in Essex offering generous sized portions of generally good tasting food at a reasonable price. My son rates Oriental Wok 5.0 stars and I'm rating it 3 stars earning Oriental Wok a 4.0 star review.
Only take out orders but lady behind the counter was friendly and worked really fast. Food was ready in less than 10min
The only Chinese food restaurant I've liked in this area of Vermont. Only docking a star for timing, I've stood there waiting 30 minutes past my pickup time and the only suggestion I would give to them is to overestimate the time it will take for the food to be ready. Gotta say though it is worth the wait in my book!
I have been going here for over a year now. I have rarely ever had a problem with their food. It's always so good, everything I've tried on their menu. Service is always spectacular, always looks clean, and food is still hot whenever I pick it up. Their prices are amazing too! Not expensive and great quality. I will continue to go here and tell my friends to go here while I live in this area.
