I love this place. Have eaten there for years with my beautiful family. I still eat there every chance I get even though I live in Albuquerque. ..highly recommend this place! The food is a cut Above!
The food was wonderful excellent I have the chili Riano's they were perfect is there a crispy and not soggy with the green chili. That was August 14, 2017. The waiter at all the servers there Very polite and respectful I recommend going there quite often and get the chili Riano's. Tall my coworkers and the film in the street when we're filming in Espanola let's eat there. I can't remember the gentleman's name that work that evening our table are big party of like 30 but he was on the ball actually everybody was . Thank you guys so much for giving my sister Melissa Royball an awesome birthday party . #filmgirl77
Most of the reviews for this place will tell you that the food was excellent but the service was bleh. Well it's been my experience here that if you aren't an asshat, use your manners, and don't ask for gluten-free and vegan options like a dingus, service is spot on. Now, I tend to be a heinous bitch before my morning coffee and carbo-load, but Angelina's fixed that "heinous" part right quick, with fast food, a full coffee pot on the table, and relatively inexpensive items. Also, decor is chickens. Chickens and roosters everywhere. Will I eat here again? Damn right. You're in Espanola, this is near as good as dine-in breakfast gets.
The Real Deal! And if you like lamb.... When I saw all the lamb dishes on the menu I knew it was different from most New Mex restaurants. Lamb chops, lamb costillas (ribs), roast leg of lamb. All are tender and juicy. Angelina's also has the best chicos I have ever had, get there early because the sellout. And try the quelitas when they're in season. When you see chicos and quelitas on the menu of a New Mexican restaurant then you know you are getting home cooking. Their green chile is great along with their sopapillas. I go out of my way to stop in for a meal.
Real New Mexican Food. Definitely some authentic New Mexican food. The lamb enchiladas with red chile were wonderful. It's always great to find a place that still makes their chile the traditional way instead of using chile powder. The refried beans and rice that accompanied it were delicious also. Sopaipillas....even better. My favorite New Mexican restaurant by far.
NM's best kept secret. I have never found any other restaurant anywhere that serves lamb burritos, costillas, chops or fajitas that are time and time again exceptional. The taste of these lamb dishes is unbeatable when the red chile is added. Its worth the drive from anywhere in NM.
Good food, good variety, great price for the food you get. Very tasty. Would eat at again. Only problem we had was getting our check, couldn't find our waitress. Only get 1 free refill except for ice tea.
They have good lamb. And you can't go wrong with the nacho supreme!!!
Angelina’s Restaurant was founded in 1984 by Fidel and Angelina Gutierrez as a way to honor their recently deceased son’s love of his mother’s red chile and beans. Rather than take the family name, the restaurant was named for Angelina since traditional N
Puelitas, Huevos Ranchos, and the pancakes were excellent for our breakfast. Next time I will try the lamb burger!
If you want to try traditional New Mexican cuisine, this is the place. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. Everything tasted home-made. Best meal of our trip to New Mexico. The red and green sauce were both delicious as was the carne adobada.
I got the pork carnitas. It’s was so good. The pork wasn’t too dry. I would definitely recommend it. We were seated quickly and the staff is super nice.
Good salsa and fresh tostada. Good food. Service was average but the place.was packed.
Got the stuffed sopapia carne adovado.
Very good.
Service is fast and friendly !!
You get two sopapia with your meal!!
While visiting family we went for dinner. Very busy and very good food. Can't wait to go back
Next best place to eat if your Grandmas kitchen is not available. Best Sopapillas are only at Angelina's.
What a gem! This place is amazing. I highly recommend the lamb burrito with green chili. Awesome! Don't forget a side order of sopapillas.
