Good breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Their chicken salad sandwich and smoked turkey sandwich are really good. The sampler appetizer is good too. Did not like the dry demi roll on the Big Ben, ruins the sandwich

Amazing all around - we loved the bruschetta, pear gorgonzola salad, and the vegetable alfredo the most! The short ribs were very nice, too. Ended the dinner with amazing tiramisu. Our waitress was so kind, upbeat, and helpful and we noticed the other servers were, too. Definitely recommended!!

This was a fantastic stop for breakfast. They were able to seat our group of seven quickly and the food was out before we knew it. The chef's Scrambles were delicious...I recommend the rosemary toast. Natalee had a strawberry smoothie that was light and amazing! We will certainly be back!

Nice cozy breakfast place! The apple cinnamon scones were the best I have ever had. They weren't hard like a brick like most scones. They were crumbly and nice and creamy tasting. Waffles were delicious--bacon was perfect.

Fantastic breakfast and dinner at the Chefs Hat. Brekkie stunned us with decent coffee and great choices so we returned for dinner. We chose the prawn filled with crab, the ahi tuna salad and the roast beef and mushrooms. Even made it to desert - a Good Life cake. Highly recommend.

I stumbled across this restaurant by accident, but my dinner was so fantastic that I believe it may have been “divinely inspired.” The wait staff was warm and welcoming. I had the “crab stuffed shrimp and boursin cheese stuffed peppadew” for an appetizer. To say it was divine would be an understatement. It was one of those rare and delightful seafood dishes where you could both appreciate the texture, and savor each unique taste and zest that went into this dish within moments. The peppadew served as a wonderfully bold and robust contrast to the perfectly stuffed shrimp. And then came the “vegetable alfredo.” What sold me on ordering this dish was the variety of three different mushrooms included (shiitake, crimini, and oyster). My goodness, they contributed to the robust, slightly earthy (in the best possible way), and subtly creamy taste and texture. To put it simply- it was everything I always wanted in an American-style Alfredo, but never experienced. To conclude: this is a James Beard award caliber restaurant. The dishes are both visually and tastefully sensational. My idea of heaven is eating here again and again for all eternity.

We had dinner on 8/7 and it was delicious! I ordered the blackened tilapia tacos, and my hubby ordered the blackened tuna with risotto. Both were fresh and delicious! Prices are very reasonable. Service was swift but not rushed, and the owner came around to every table to check on their experience. We had a lovely view of the sunset, too. Highly recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful breakfast at The Chef's Hat, a hidden gem in town that left me truly impressed. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the warm and inviting ambiance, which set the tone for a memorable dining experience. One of the highlights of my visit was the exceptional service provided by our lovely waitress, Emily. Her genuine smile and attentive nature made me feel like a valued guest throughout my entire meal. Emily's knowledge of the menu was commendable, as she effortlessly guided me through the various breakfast options, providing insightful recommendations and answering all my questions with enthusiasm. As for the food itself, The Chef's Hat certainly lives up to its name. The menu boasted a delectable assortment of breakfast dishes, each prepared with remarkable skill and attention to detail. I opted for their French toast, and it was a true masterpiece. The cozy and elegant atmosphere of the restaurant, combined with Emily's attentive service and the exceptional culinary offerings, created a breakfast experience that exceeded my expectations. The attention to detail and passion for their craft showcased by the talented chefs at The Chef's Hat is truly commendable. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting The Chef's Hat for breakfast, and I highly suggest asking for Emily as your waitress. Her genuine warmth and dedication to ensuring a memorable dining experience will make your visit all the more special. Prepare yourself for a morning of culinary bliss, where every bite and every interaction leaves you with a smile on your face. The Chef's Hat, with Emily as your guide, is undoubtedly a breakfast haven worth visiting time and time again.

Came in when it wasn't busy. The outside was gorgeous with flowers and a greatly detailed patio, and the inside was clean. Food was delicious as well for all four of us, and our server was amazing!

Our best meal in our week in Door County. Interesting food and excellent presentation. We went early and had no wait in July. We sat inside but outdoor seating looked welcoming as well. We walked from here to the weekly music at the gazebo. Definitely worth a trip!

We had dinner here on both nights that we were in Door County. With my wife's dietary restrictions (gluten-free and vegetarian), we basically took a stroll through Ephraim looking at menus and talking to the managers if needed. I think this is one of the best places for someone with those restrictions. The owner comes out and talks to the customers. The beer selections were good, although they were out of two of the three beers on tap. Desserts are awesome as well. The portion sizes on the entrees are not too big (appropriate for one person). The food definitely had a fresh, made from scratch feel to it and the ingredients were high quality. The location and ambience are excellent. We watched the most amazing sunset a 2-minute walk from this restaurant. Their outside seating is positioned such that you could probably get a great sunset view right from your table.

This is my FAVORITE place to eat in all of Door County! We've been visiting Door County for the past 5 summers and this is always a must-stop for us for breakfast. Last year we went two days in a row because it's just that good! Highly recommend the avocado toast, fresh over-easy eggs, and breakfast potatoes. Also LOVE their specialty coffee drinks. Can't wait to visit again this summer :)

This place is the best. The quality of food, service, and atmosphere are exactly what we needed for an extended weekend vacation. We ate here for dinner and then breakfast the next day and both times were delicious. Try the pumpkin pear soup, any breakfast, the house margarita, and the New Orleans pasta. Oh, it's also right on the water, perfect for a gorgeous sunset.

Great find! Recommended by a local owner. We all had selections from the Chef’s specials. Food and service were excellent. Rate 9 of 10. Outdoor seating at sunset was nice. Tiramisu was excellent. Excellent Brandy old-fashioned too.

Delicious food and the setting is so cute! Our server was hilarious and was very helpful with recommending items from the menu. When you visit you have to try one of the Naniamo bars off of the dessert menu, they're amazing!

I chose this place for breakfast and it ruined my morning! Firstly, our server was extremely rude, when I told her about my dietary restrictions and was about to ask if they can suggest something, she bluntly replied "no, I dont know what you can order then" The food doesn't taste good either. Everything we ordered came cold and looked stale. Even the breakfast potatoes had some bad odor coming from it. An awful experience!!

It's a good but not great place. The service is fine. The breakfast prices are the same as others rated with $$$. The food was good, but nothing terribly special.

Visited for dinner with a group of four and the food and service were top-notch. We ate outside in June which made the experience even better. Friend got the beef short ribs and I got a Cajun dish called the New Orleans, Both were excellent. Only rip off was the side of bread that they upcharge for. They bring out four thin pieces which is insufficient for the dish. Bread should be included for the table.

Love the Wraps!. My wife and I very much enjoyed the Pear Gorgonzola wrap they gave us. My wife has been there a couple of times and the soup is always tasty. There's some nice outdoor seating near the bay. Plus, it looked like there was a place where you could sit and work your laptop while eating and looking out at the bay, so I thought that was a nice touch.

Best lunch in Door County. The burgers here are great. The focaccia bun is great. Gorgonzola roast beef is delicous as well and has a kick with the bread. Don't be a fool and get the potato salad instead of chips, you won't regret it.

Ok, but still hungry. Had a Cheeseburger & kettle chips - claimed it was a 1/2 lb. was more like 1/4 - 1/3 lb. <br/>The food tasted really good, there just wasn't a lot of it. I was still hungry when I left. The kettle chips were good too. Wife had a Chicken Salad sandwich and said it was really tasty and was satisfied. I thought over $25 for the meal was crazy since I was still hungry. Probably won't go back.

Best Restaurant in Door County. I've been to Chef's Hat 4 times for breakfast and I'm amazed at the quality of food every time I go there. Best scones I have ever had. Not to mention that the price is very reasonable (not just for Door County, but anywhere). Next time in Door County, I will go for Lunch/Dinner.

Staff was friendly and we enjoyed the sunset through the front window. Pear and gorgonzola salad was tasty and presented nicely. The New Orleans pasta dish was very unique with wild rice and Andouille sausage which provided some "zip". The Tilapia cooked perfectly, topped with a fruit salsa on a bed of parmesan risotto provided a perfect blend of flavors. Would highly recommend.

Excellent!. In "downtown" Ephraim, Door County, WI, this place was a very pleasant surprise. Great menu, brilliantly prepared food, innovative cuisine, nice surroundings, and VERY tasty! Other than the fact that Ephraim is a "dry" town (much to my wife's surprise - I didn't care), this is definitely worth a few more visits.
