A Must For Me. The Rowe Inn is a true treasure of the North. It defines the elegant country dining experience. Take some time and work your way through the course options on the menu and do not forget the wine cellar. It was a Father's Day treat.
Fantastic dining. Wonderful place, with wonderful food. This is unpretentious fine dining, a delightful combination. It is sometimes difficult up north to have great cuisine without pomposity--I am talking about you Tapiwingo RIP.
The service is well timed and the food is magnificent.
The food and wait staff service here are excellent. However, do not question the owner about wine knowledge as she will bite your head off if you assert any of your knowledge. She was totally dismissive of natural wines and orange wine, both very popular now and much is written about them. The food is wonderful and worth going there for. Ditto on the wait staff. The owner should stay in the back. :)
Good food, but small portions, very nice environment, good service.
What a gem to find up here in Northern Michigan! The food was divine with amazing layered flavors, better than most restaurants we go to in Chicago . The owner helped us pick the perfect wine and taught a few things too. The atmosphere was warm and quaint, a perfect dinner for the holidays!
Haven’t been to The Rowe Inn in many years. Always made it a point to eat there when we went up north. My husband, Norm Baylis, was a fan of sweet Annie, who was an outstanding wait-person! The whole crew was the best, and the food was done to perfection. This place is one of the best in Michigan! Have had trouble remembering the name of this little town and the name of restaurant. After a lot of searching, I found it and next time I go north, I will stop in for another great meal!! Everyone should make a point to stop for quite the eating experience at The Rowe!
At least during the off season, if not year round, the Rowe features a great brunch deal: $25/person for a three course meal.
My wife and I went and, after drinks and desert, got out of there for $90.
The food was outstanding, the service was attentive with out pestering, and the presentation superb. While I'm usually one to dive into my plate, I held off for a moment to appreciate how the food was served- cool!
Worth a stop, but you might want to skip the latte's the week before to save up for it.
This was a wonderful find. It was indeed fine dining with a wonderful atmosphere. The wine list was all inconpessing with a wonderful Italian section.
The food was perfect with special attention to the sauces, soups, and presentation. It could not have been better!
Loved this place. Excellent service and amazing food. The bartender paired wine with our courses and did a fantastic job. She was extremely knowledgeable about the wines. Very friendly place, met some fun people as well
We had a wonderful dinner last night! The morel soup was absolutely delicious. The duck confit was extremely flavorful and moist. The new chef is fantastic! Thank you for a great evening!
We come here several times a year. The food is always amazing. Last night was no exception. To complement the food, Laurel does some great wine pairings. The wine cellar is amazing. She'll even do a half (or even quarter) glass. Last night we had a pairing with the appetizer and main course. She brought smaller glasses because she knew my wife and I were going to share the dinners. So cool. Last night I had the veal scallopini with raspberry sauce and my wife the whitefish. Both were perfect. The lamb and duck are usually my go to dishes. The sauces change regularly and creatively. Not much room left for dessert but we managed to split a hummer and a lemon lavender crème brulee. Very slight lavender after taste. Wish we lived closer. Laurel is the sweetest. I like going to places that appreciate you being there. We head there from downstate on our way to Harbor Springs. A few minutes out of the way but worth it every time.
Mostly excellent, I would say the confirmation was a bit dry on the surface but very tasty. Morel and escargot and wild mushroom soup we're spectacular. Scallops were very goid. The sonalier was quite understanding of my picky wife. I will be back.
