I live in Cruces and I drive 30 miles to eat at this place. Its not far lol! I'm from Long Beach California and it reminds me of Hawaiian food from California. It always a must to eat here man. #IslanderFood
Good food at good prices. Chicken katsu and the chicken/beef bbq are bomb.
Surprisingly good. Presentation was lackluster - takeout boxes are the norm I guess? Decent sticky rice got a major boost with the Aloha and Katsu sauce. I got the lemon pepper chicken and my dining buddy got the pulled pork. Both pretty good (pork better than chicken) but the star of the show was the spam moco with Aloha sauce. Seriously I need a bottle of that Aloha sauce for my entire life.
I love this place!! I was in Hawaii several times and this is the closet to that food. I live in Washington now so I come here every time I come back

Hawaiian on the Mainland. Aloha Hawaiian BBQ was surprising. Never having been to Hawaii I am unaware about what authentic Hawaiian food tastes like. Instead of critiquing the food for its authenticity, I would rather talk about its flavor. I ordered the combination chicken katsu with fried shrimp special and had fried ice cream for dessert. The chicken katsu had a wonderful crispy exterior and moist chicken inside. The texture on the chicken was just perfect. The shrimp was just like any typical fried shrimp, nothing too special. I was excited to use the wide variety of dipping sauces provided for my chicken but was rather disappointed at how watered down they were. Dipping the chicken in the sauce hardly any of the sauce stuck onto the chicken. The sweet sauces were not overwhelming in the least and the sweet chili sauce didn't have the needed chili kick to it because it was very thin. My combination plate also came with rice and noodle salad. I was so excited to try the fried ice cream because I though the type of ice cream on the inside was going to be coconut. Turns out it was just plain vanilla ice cream but it was so much fun to eat because it was pilled high with whipped cream and colorful syrups and the batter around the ice was pretty good.
Pretty good bbq chicken and chicken katsu. Tried bbq beef, but it was not the best. If you like chicken katsu, it is pretty good to go.. next time I am going to try fried shrimp.

Pleasantly Surprised. Sooo I wasn't really sure what to expect, especially when my boyfriend said they had some kind SPAM sushi (gross?). But he said this place was good and actually, it was all SO freakin good!!!! We scarfed down the whole meal and my favorite was the SPAM thing, lol! Definitely try this place!!!! We will be eating here often now :)
It was so good I went back the next day. It is very authentic. The food tastes like what you would get in Hawaii. Make sure to try the pork or the chicken, delicious!
The real ono!. When this joint first opened on the eastside, I used to frequent that location and food was pretty good. They've since sold off the eastside to different owners and the food there is now terrible. This location however, retained by the original owners is as good as ever. The grilled/bbq chicken, grilled beef, ribs, and kalua pork are fork tender and deliciously marinated. The only thing I don't like is the katsu chicken (breaded), its always bland and bone dry.
It was alright. Being Hawaiian I have definitely had better. The food was too salty but not too bad. They need more traditional Hawaiian dishes like poi or malasadas. but over all not terrible. probably wont ever go there again though.
Must Try!. Whether or not the food resembles island fare, the BBQ is packed with flavor and the meat is always juicy and tender. The steamed rice is never dry or undercooked and the creamy pasta salad that comes with each 'Plate Meal' makes a satisfying combination of comfort foods! Our favs so far:
BBQ Beef and Kalua Pulled Pork. The portions are well worth the price, they never skimp on the bbq! The sauce is sweet and pineapple-y giving it a tropical twist.
The restaurant is very understated so we usually get take-out and the service is always prompt and friendly. I've never waited more than 10 minutes but for an even faster take-out experience they offer call ahead.
It was ok I guess cause I am was hungry. Serving size was small but for the price it was ok. I got one Kalbi rib with the Katsu. I asked for all Mac salad but still got rice and little Mac salad. Maybe cause they were closing soon and was running low with other orders to fill. Service was a little slow to take our order, we waited for about 5 minutes for someone to come out of the kitchen to take out orders, but it was quick to get my dine in food. They did ask a couple times if everything was ok while I was eating, so that was nice of them. I would go back again if I’m ever around the area.
Ordered the family pack. Bbq beef, chicken katsu, and limpia order of 3. It was delicious! Great service. It was $33 and fed 4 of us 👌
Food is good. Servings good. Service could use improvement but pretty decent experience overall. Would go back again.
Not bad food, I only give 4 instead of 3 because it's the only Hawaiian food I can find out here. Not bad if it's your first time having Hawaiian, however you'll be mildly disappointed if you grew up on your Tutu's Kalua Pork your whole life.
Only place in town I could find for Spam Musubi's. Went there only for that, they were great!

I think this is more of a man cave type food I don't particularly things that women like this type of service and presentation they get. I love it my wife's not too fond of it so whenever we can go together it makes me happy. But I really like the food there the only thing is I do think that their chicken is a little old so if I were you I'd stay away from the chicken maybe I just got a bad batch who knows. But I've gotten there plenty of times and had their meat and it is great.
Do not go solely based off of the 5-star rating. My girlfriend and I happened to be on the West side for some business and we were in the mood for something new. We found this place and pulled up with a sense of skepticism. It was the dinner rush and the place seemed empty. Once we walked in, our skepticism rose due there being no one by the counter. A young gentleman appeared, pointed us to our menu and took our order. It was at this point that I noticed a heavenly scent in the air. Once the food came out, our doubts were gone. The food was amazing. Each bite felt like a little slice of the island. I will most definitely be making the drive back to this side of town.
been going here with co-workers for lunch for more than 4 years. every bite of food has been amazing since day one. Owner is the friendliest restaurant owner i've ever met. the cashier and cooks always greet and say goodbye. the place has good vibes, always clean, not many people know about this gem. keep up the good work Aloha!
