Perfect lunch spot!!!! I actually loved everything about it including chatting it up with the owner and locals. Tacos were awesome.... :).
Best Mexican in Town. What a find this is! I been in search of the best Mexican Restaurant in El Paso since I moved here more than 8 years ago, and I think I finally found it. Lucy's is small. It seats about 15 people on a counter three feet away from the grill. The food is made fresh in front of you, and it comes steaming off the grill. My wife and son had the enchiladas and they were delicious. I had the combination plate, which had the enchilada, steak taco, chili rellenos - they were all delicious. The enchilada and taco meat were the best I have had. The owner (or manager - I can't tell) was fabulous. He was friendly, inviting, and on-the-go the entire time. At one point, all of the seats were filled, and he went from behind the counter to meet a guy without a seat to invite him to sit with him on a ledge - it was wonderful gesture to make sure that the customer felt welcome. The owner / manager told us about his larger restaurant (north Mesa) and nicer new restaurant (near franklin high school), but we told him that we would be back to this great place - and we will, soon!!!
Cute little place with friendly staff. The machaca was good and the steak picado(sp?). Love the 50's diner decor and I can see why it's been around so long.
Machaca is the best!. Best Machaca in El Paso! ...Along with Kiki's :)
Order the machaca. One of the few remaining lunch counters in El Paso, this truly greasy spoon has the usual Mexican/American plates for breakfast and lunch. But the standout here is the machaca: shredded beef, eggs, onions and peppers covered in queso.
This is a great spot if you are looking for a quick and tasty breakfast. I had the chilaquiles rojos and they were delicious. The cook and server were very friendly. Great local breakfast spot !
Passing through EP and decided to ha e breakfast at Lucy's. So glad we did! I had the French toast with eggs and bacon. Amazing! The French Toast was the perfect thickness and paired well with my coffee! My husband had the Machaca Plate and was very satisfied! Coffee was pretty good as well!
A tad small and thus can feel a bit cramped, this place feels very genuine and homey. Diners like this are always cherished establishments of their communities. I wouldn't rank the Antonia Tacos as the best in the city like I've seen in online discussions, but the food did feel home cooked and authentic.
I had a really nice time here. It’s not fancy - mildly dirty, simple food, good prices - but the food was great and the ambiance even better. I got there right as it opened and was the first one there. By the time I finished the place was nearly full. I’d recommend it here and would come back again if I’m in the area. This is a place for the people.
The food is delicious, however there is a long wait to be served once order is placed. The space is very small inside, so you will be lucky to get a stool during busy hours. The two ladies who work there are nice, and you get to see how your food is prepared right over the counter.
5 star breakfast! The service was friendly and it’s all counter seating which is cool. The food was delicious! I tried the Machaca plate because that’s what everyone was talking about, and it didn’t disappoint. Very good food!
Exactly the kind of spot I wish was still more rampant where I live, but sadly, now just a distant memory of a bygone (better) past. The service here was second to none- such incredibly warm, genuine, caring people running Lucy's. The food (we did breakfast) was stellar! My breakfast was filling enough (ask for their homemade hot green salsa!), but the fellow running it (whose smile could brighten the cloudiest day) prompted me to get a pancake, as the lady working the griddle was apparently a master at them, and while this put me over the edge in terms of fullness, I did not for a second going for it- perfectly cooked, moist, and fluffy! I cannot wait to visit on my next trip!
Small diner but with a lot of good food and good vibes. A lot of regulars come here often and I don't blame them. The green chicken enchiladas montadas (over easy eggs on top) area incredible. The machaca plate is also delicious. The chilangas are good, too! The cook, she's very sweet and a fantastic cook. I highly recommend this hole in the wall.
This was really a great breakfast. You have to look closely as we drove by it not realizing it was tucked into the Budget Lodge. The Machaca plate was really good. Full of flavor and they make their Machaca in house. It was covered in Queso and there were refried beans, hash browns and we took them up on the offer for tortillas and salsa. You know the salsa was homemade....we watched them prep veggies to make a new batch! My husband had the Mexican omelet which was flavorful.
Prices are reasonable and the service was fast. The coffee shop is tiny - counter seating only. If you want a little hometown diner, then this is a good stop!
Great place to eat, good prices, good selection, different food from the rest, different taste, but I really like the Lucy's cafe on the the northeast, there taste was awesome, Jose was an awesome server, it's a little smaller cafe but over all it was great, and it's worth the drive. You want something different try Lucy's cafe, you like it and wanna go back.
