One of the better tempura places around although I truly miss the presentation of the food prior to COVID-19. I put up a picture from 2015 to show presentation then. You place an order and can take home but this food doesn’t do well as takeout. It does much better if you can eat it in the common dining space or if you’re uncomfortable with that just bring it back to your car and eat it there. The crispness of the tempura fry is what you desire and that suffers if you wait too long to eat this. So the best way to enjoy dishes from this place shuts as soon as you get your order from the kitchen. It’s not as enjoyable otherwise. The food takes about 10-15 minutes to cook and longer if the place is busy. They have gotten better with post pandemic packaging as well. They have switched to plastic containers from the styrofoam containers and they cut vent holes in the plastic cover top now.

Here is another delightful fast food restaurant inside Mitsuwa Marketplace. We had the eel over rice. There use to be a pretty large fried unagi eel with the box set when they opened several years ago and as the years have passed, it has started to shrink with the price increase. You'll spend close to twenty. The miso was extra salty this time and wasn't good. It's still a place we go when we shop at Mitsuwa for grocery items, dry goods, and other baked goodies.

Located inside Mitsuwa, Hannosuke offers perfectly fried and battered tempuras! On our recent visit, I got the shrimp with an add-on chicken tempura and soft boiled egg. The batter was nicely fried and had great taste that complimented and coated that shrimp and chicken well. Meat was also tender and not overcooked. I love the little drizzle of sauce that was enough to give extra flavor but not make the proteins and rice soggy. I dont think I noticed they had takoyaki before and so we got those too. It was surprisingly good and was the perfect appetizer. Ok portions of octopus meat. I also tried the cold soba. It was nicely done, chewy and fresh. Well there is not really much flavor on soba so thats where the dipping sauce came in handy. Still not much flavor lol but I think i just wanted the experience and to get a nice chew on some noodles. It was still an enjoyable meal. This is just me though but I dont easily get full with two shrimp tempuras thus the add-ons but if youre into a light fried meal then this would be an option from all the other food offered within Mitsuwa.

9/27/2020 Take out only when we went on 7.28.20. Thats all fine. I ordered just the assorted tempora ate, my friend ordered the whole platter set for #1. The friedness of it made it so good! First time I ordered it since I always saw huge lines on weekends before covid. Most of the tempora plates comes with fried broccoli, seaweed, shrimp, and the item platter you order.
