Jacks Lobster Shack

Ordered pickup and food was prepared fast. The lobster roll was much smaller than expected and tasted fishy. Didn’t worth the 30 bucks and probably the worst lobster roll I’ve had (I’ve tried at least 6-7 places). Ordered a bowl of lobster bisque but also seemed more like a cup. Tasted okay a bit salty though very creamy. Mac and cheese was good and okay portion but honestly it’s difficult to make it bad lol. We were looking forward to this newly found lobster place on a Friday night but disappointed. Final verdict - Won’t return. Below is added in response to the owner’s reply: Lobster roll size - I appreciate the citing of the other 2 dozens restaurants but I’m just a consumer and all I had was my own experience. And my experience was that this was the third lobster roll I’ve had in the past two months and it was smaller than the other two I had (one from a NJ local food truck and one from a lobster shack in Long Island). It could be that I just had better luck in the other two places but all I said was “smaller than expected” because it was. Reading the other reviews for this restaurant, I also saw that I’m not the only person that had this feeling. Lobster roll price - I understand the pandemic had jacked up the prices for things but as a first time customer, I was hit with a smaller than expected lobster roll with a not so fresh fishy taste (instead of the fresh sweet lobster taste which is why I called it fishy). I wouldn’t know this is the highest price in 6 yrs and honestly I will probably be happier paying for a $34 lobster roll that’s better quality and seemed more like a full meal. The price difference is negligible for good food. I said I won’t return because it wasn’t a good experience for me. Other people who saw the pics and agree with your cited industry standards can form their own opinions.

If you love seafood and your looking for a nice little date this place may be an option. They aren’t overly priced and they are B.Y.O.B. (Bring your own bottle) as they only serve non alcoholic beers, however they do have a selection of wine with alcohol. I had the lobster roll with chips (I didn’t like the chips as they were a bit over done, so they were very hard), calamari was great, salmon with sweet potato fries. The waiter was very nice and made a great recommendation on the lobster roll and wine Chardonnay. Definitely would go back and recommend to others!

Finally there’s a great spot in New Jersey for lobsters. The lobster was obviously fresh and delicious. The bread maybe just a little bit too buttery. Also if maybe the bread was different from a regular toast bread to give some crunchiness it would be much better. The service was great, everyone very cordial and nice. The bisque is absolutely delicious, the best I’ve ever had in my life

I loved the relaxed family environment! Our server was lovely and had helpful suggestions about menu items. We had the fish & chips... you could almost taste the beer in the batter. It was delicious. The calamari and beet salad was fresh and tasty! Next time I'm having lobster or maybe the lobster rolls.

Ordered the clam chowder, lobster dinner, steamed shrimp, which were huge and delicious, onion rings which was excellent. Service was quick and the servers were extremely pleasant and helpful with the menu, especially Talia. Everything was delicious. I came over from the city for other business and stumbled over the shack. I will definitely be making the trip back to try some of their other delicious dishes.

This was my first time ordering from here & wish I had found it on past visits. The fish & chips were absolutely delicious. I had it delivered to my hotel. My only complaint is the french fries. Steak type fries would be nicer with fish, but that’s me. Will definitely order from them again when in the area. Update: I was in the area again this week for work & ordered Friday & Saturday. The food is so damn consistently good. The tall Asian delivery driver is so friendly he delivered to my hotel on both occasions. This place is definitely my go to when back here again.

I wonder why they are so popular and people aways wait for the line! I finally got to try this place (they have outdoor seating about 6 tables) after 30 mins waiting. Lots of people ordered for takeout as well. We order the Lobster roll and grilled lobster sandwich, crab cake and the clam chowder in a bread. Everything we ordered were super tasty and fresh! And the server was very nice.
