Tucked into the Duarte Inn plaza, this simple, cash-only spot serves up a variety of Indonesian fare. My favorites are their assorted rice dishes that comes with a variety of meat & vegetable sides. Oh, and the avocado smoothie!

This is a no-frills type of place. The restaurant has little to no decor, except for some pictures of food on the wall. But don't let the sparse decor fool you, the food is flavorful and is a good reflection of Indonesian food.
Must order the CHICKEN SATAY! Haven't had such moist and juicy satay in a long while. There is plenty of flavor from the spices and the grill, but the meat inside is still tender. I don't know how they do it, but keep up the good work! This is a must order!! You can order it either in combo form (which comes 3 skewers, rice/rice cake, 2 egg rolls, and a salad) or you can 5 skewers by themselves. The combo was nothing special. I would opt for the skewers a la carte next time since its more of an appetizer anyways.
I also tried the FRIED FISH CAKE was is not your typical fish cake. Its fish cake wrapped around a egg yolk and then deep fried. When they cut it, the cross section looks like a real egg, except that the white parts are fish cake instead of egg whites. This sits on top of a bed of noodle and vermicelli, with some sweet and spicy sauce. Quite an interesting dish. The fish cake didn't taste like the usual fish cake, but had a much chewier texture. The noodles were pretty good with the sauce.
CHICKEN FRIED RICE was good but nothing special. I guess they cook their rice a bit on the softer side in order to make the rice cake, but this ends up making the fried rice a bit on the mushier side when they use the same rice. Flavors were pretty good, but the rice is a bit on the oilier side.
CHICKEN RICE BOWL was no good. The chicken was dry, the sauce was too sweet. I don't get how chicken satay was grilled to perfection but this rice bowl had burned and dry chicken. Do not order.
Overall, the food is good. I'll definitely be coming back to try their Laksa and to get more satay!!

One of my favorite restaurants in the world. My favorite meals are the Nasi Padang, Nasi Bungkus, and Chicken Satay Combo. Also the durian smoothies are amaaazziinng if you're into durian!

Hidden gem in Duarte tucked into a tiny plaza that is easy to miss. Friendly owner/staff and great food. Cash only.

Sadly, closed in 2016. Was an excellent place to get Indonesian food at good prices run by a nice hard-working family.
