Waffle House

The customer service was terrible! 2 group of customers were waiting including me and the person that attended us only clean Two table only. when it was our turn to sit down they lady didn’t even say anything because she wasn’t done cleaning the table and jump to handle someone else instead of sitting us down. Why would you jump to another table mean while you sat two other customer down and couldn’t clean our table. I understand it could be busy at time but if you communicate with you’re customer and let them know you’ll be right with them. It was total of 5 workers.

I came to the Dover Delaware location with my family late trying to find food after being on the highway all day. There were 3 employees working which would not be a problem except that 1 was cooking, 1 was serving and the 3rd a rude young lady with teal and red box braids was standing at the counter with headphones in her ears flirting with a customer at the bar while there were 4 tables needing to be cleared. When the hard working server finally got us sat she was wonderful and apologetic. The cook was wonderful, our server was wonderful. We were in the restaurant approximately an hour and a half and I never saw the third girl leave the fellow she was flirting with to help out. The other 2 were clearly frustrated. If she were my employee she would be let go immediately.

A small place with three booths and some seats at the counter that stays packed early mornings. They move efficiently to seat and wait on you. I ordered a bacon, egg & cheese biscuit with a side of hash browns with sautéed onions and jalapeños. My friend got the 2 egg plate w/ bacon, hash browns, and toast. It was all good and the coffee strong . Would go back again.

This experience has been a repeat. This is about the 4th time I went to the Waffle House and was told I couldn't get take out because they were short staff. The logic behind this statement was poorly thought through. If your short staff then it would make more sense to cook an order, bag an order, and send me on my way. However, the Waffle House thinks it's more efficient taking orders, running from table to table, fully servicing everyone's personal order needs, than to allow me to take my order to go. Soooooo delightfully embarrassing!! And this is what I get trying to support my neighborhood business.
