Love this place. Great family atmosphere with very good comfort food. The Mac and cheese is one my kids' favorites in town. The burger is tasty and much better than any fast food burger.
Their real prize though is their breakfasts. The Cozy Mess is amazing! Just all your favorite breakfast foods piled on to a plate with a side of toast. Mmm.

We order breakfast, to go, from Cozy Cafe, quite a bit, but I think we just ordered our last meal from them. Barely any meat on our omelets, didn't get our sides of bacon, didn't get side of hashbrowns. Paid extra for these things, so very disappointed and will not return.

Walked, in, sat down, walked out.
We have been here a few times with no problems except for extremely slow service. The other day we sat down, noticed how disgustingly dirty the floors and tables were and that was enough for me. The floors were absolutely FILTHY and littered with food particles and trash. Behind the booth in the southwest corner of the room was a trash pit. Gross. All I could think about was how dirty the kitchen must be if management allows the dining room to look like that. We promptly left.

Usually quick, always good quality in whatever I'm getting (although I haven't gotten a lot), but it seems that staff is just about average... But maybe that's because I'm not a regular and don't have the coffee drinker look. Overall I like this place more than Starbucks, but I would also rather go to The Smokey Row.

For some reason they closed at 2 because of weather? ?? Losing out on shoppers looking for place to eat. Mixup on food and communication between staff, not getting what was ordered. Too much cleaning going on while trying to eat. Maybe I'm too picky. The food was good although bun very soggy. Chicken tasty, biscuits good and so we're mashed potatoes.

Good breakfast. Our server was the only person there besides the cook, which made it hard for her to attend to everyone's needs, but that's not her fault. Overall, good food and service.

Inexpensive. Service is fantastic. Food is okay, but nothing to get excited about. My kids love the pancakes, as they use cinnamon in the batter.

Like a small town cafe in big town Des Moines. I particularly enjoy the tenderloin sandwiches, both grilled and fried. The breakfasts are always good. Try a slice of pie if you can save room for it.
